Mon 21 May – Animal Collective, Sir Richard Bishop
Man, this was a great concert. It started about an hour late, which really sucked, but thankfully they had some kind of chillout noise-groove music playing during the delay. The opener, Sir Richard Bishop, was a nice surprise because I don't like his recordings but he was quite engaging in person. When Animal came on stage, everyone in the crowd was SUPER excited for their set. They played a couple of new songs first (although I caught Who Could Win a Rabbit in there somewhere.) I thought they really found their groove when they played Loch Raven (INCREDIBLE) and Leaf House. It was my first time to Cervantes and I loved the ballroom and the show.
