Artists I discovered and listed last year that topped my charts this year: Lady Gaga, Lily Allen and Joe McElderry (3 out of 9).

Artists I thought would top that didn't: Beyoncé, Andre Matos and Leona Lewis.

Kamelot is the only metal group I keep hearing and Lady Gaga is this year's most memorable artist for me. She's reinventing music with every song she writes and her sounds please me like no other. I was never even interested in this kind of music before she came. I've heard and danced to The Fame (Monster) countless times, both alone in my bedroom and together with friends and complete strangers in night clubs, and Bad Romance might very well be the very best dance tune I've ever heard. It surely lifts everyone up in the night clubs I go to: it starts playing and everybody screams approvingly before they start shouting the lyrics, chanting the oohs and aahs and just dancing their collective asses off. Myself included. It's no wonder why I'm anticipating her next album so much. She's a lot more than just a crowd-pleaser: that woman is a true genius.

I'm also eager to hear more from Adam Lambert (whose song Can't Let You Go I just discovered is already one of my favorite songs of all time), Rihanna (the Loud album is her first I've liked and I think it's great), Charice (with an album that really showcases the diva within her), Matt Cardle (and his superb vocals, as seen in his X Factor journey), Rebecca Ferguson (and her exquisite and soulful voice) and all of the other X Factor contestants from this year.

I think Lady Gaga will be number one in my charts next year, along with Adam Lambert (if he releases another album), Kamelot, Rihanna, Diana Vickers, Matt Cardle and Legião Urbana. But I'm not really comfortable with making all these guesses, as it all depends on how good I find the 2011 albums to be. If there aren't a lot of good albums, then probably the great ones I found in 2010 will top again and these same artists will take the top 10 spots. I hope this year turns out to be as good as 2010 was, or perhaps even better… although it seems to me that it's gonna be the latter!
