Yeah sure that's fine with me! :o) And yeah I get what you mean! I've already found some rare interviews and it's made me all teary eyed! :( I swear she was such a funny person! In one of the interviews she takes the mic from the interviewer and takes over the interview by saying thanks to all her fans! Loll! But yeah, I just did a group search on Last.fm these are all the existing Aaliyah groups so far! http://www.last.fm/community/groups/search?q=Aaliyah So I think that group name would be fine! I aint seen any other group like the one we're about do to, so I'm really down for this! It's a great way to archive all her music, video footage, interviews etc...in a positive way! :o) And yeah don't worry about all that illuminati crap! I seen enough of that on MJ, Jay-Z, Tupac etc... Only gonna focus on the positive! :o) And yeah I've seen that like from ages ago now, it's disgusting and so disrespectful! I wish people could just leave that shit alone and let her rest in peace! Smh...X

Yeah I deffo agree with you on that! And hmmm I get you on that! But to be honest it's the same with all that Niki Minaj Barbie bullshit, like putting us women down thinking we're all fake and like Barbies it's like wtf! Don't get me wrong there are some fucked up chicks out there who will just try and copy shit cuz they don't know their 'real' self, they imitate others in order to make themselves feel better! 2bh I think the world has lost it's mind, it's like all people want these days is the fucked up wastemanz and hoe's, whatever happened to REAL men and women just being themself? Smh...Oh well, works both ways I guess, good guys end up with the fucked up bitches and the nice women end up with the wastemanz! But oh really? That's awesome! :D And I feel honored you asked me! I'd be glad to help you, I can understand how school work can get in the way, so I don't mind at all! :o) X

Redman has always been a bit animated, but I love Redman's serious shit as well. "It goes Reggie, Jay-Z, 2Pac, and Biggie, Andre from Outkast, Jada, Kurupt, Nas, and then me" - Eminem, not man out there can do it better than the Funk Doc. I think everyone who loves Hip Hop does. Yeah he did, but he came back last year with a "Mixtape" (more like a street album, since he was selling it) and that was to hype his upcoming album.... that apparently is still upcoming. First it was slated for July of 2010 I believe.... then September... then I heard nothing about it since, sadly. Scarface is one of the GOATs, for quite some time I ain't gunna lie, no one could tell me there was someone better than 'Face.

Yeah it was a tiny url link I guess lastfm didn't send it out of worry of it being a link or something to music. I'm not dumb haha. Was just tryna make it so the url didn't eat up the characters count. Red was not very happy with that album or the label situation, why do you think he wants to leave? That wasn't Red on that album. At least not the Red we know. I'm not saying all of the lines were bad, but some of that had me laughing, especially when taken out and just exposes like that. "I put it down like my hand hurts" LOOOOL "When it waynes it pours' lmao. I won't hold my breath for a Nas/X collabo album. I'd be happy with a new song. Shit I want a Nas, X, Scarface song. Speaking of Scarface, he's been mute as shit since that talk of a new album last year. Smh... I want that new Scarface junt, love 'face

Oh wow really? Thats cool! :o) And trust me! They have it for everyone else so why not her you know? Nah, I don't mind Drake, although I can't listen to all of his stuff, certain songs are like hmm 'ok' and other songs are like woop woop yes I'm feeling this! loll! I do prefer his singing to his actual rapping though! And hmm...I disagree with you on that, Drake was actually rapping about it from a guys point of view, cuz you know how Aaliyah would sing from the woman's point of view in terms of relationships, he was just doing his thing but from the male perspective! But yeah, I do agree it wasn't the best tribute for her, he could of done a much better job in my honest opinion! And exactly! She was great role model for both girls and women! I definitely would say she was a huge inspiration within my life! X

I remember that day too well man, I cried cuz I didn't wanna believe it to be true, I was only just getting into her music for her to be taken away! I reckon if she was still alive she'd be better than all these female artists like Beyoncé etc... Not to say they aint doing their thing, but Aaliyah just had something different about her! I liked how she didn't try to be something that she wasn't! She was so true and humble to herself that she came across as a genuine person, and not someone who was fake! Even with the music production, she always wanted to go that step further and offer something that was totally unique and different to everyday mainstream! X

Yeah I noticed that! Hence why I added you! :o) loll! I was like ooo someone talking about my girl! I have a lot of time for anyone who appreciates Aaliyah and her music. And trust! Identical to none, she just had her own style. She was so ahead of her time that even listening to her stuff today sounds soo current and fresh! It's such a shame she was taken away from us! :( I had a skim read through your convo though and I agree with you to a certain extent! These days when I mention Aaliyah not many people know who she is anymore and it's really sad! The only ones who are keeping her alive are us fans who have been loyal from day one! I recently came across this film they made about her, they were showing it down my endz, I haven't had a chance to see it yet, but at least it's something you know?

Well Drake does have "Unforgettable" which is dedicated to her, I just don't like how Young Jeezy is on it, he kinda just ruins the track for me! Lol! J.cole's and Jay Z's version are respectable at least! I remember the cover version that Omarion did of One In A Million! Omg, that dude ruined it for me! Having lyrics missing and using machines to hit the high notes? Smh.... appalling! X

Oh have you? I did that and it didn't show up on mines! That's strange! :S loll! And yeah, I literally just found the fan made version today! I was hoping someone would do that actually! I was asking one of my friends who makes beats to try and make a complete version of it for me, but now I've found one so it's cool! :o) lol! And yeah, the tribute her brother made came out awhile ago now! You can tell he really misses his little sister! But yeah definitely! A lot of artists loved and looked to Aaliyah as inspiration! I found this mix a week ago of Marvins Room with Aaliyah's "If Your Girl Only Knew" It's actually really good and links really well lyrically wise! :o) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sWGY6R2cl2c&feature=channel_video_title

Like I enjoyed Tha Carter IV, don't get me wrong, but it don't compare with the others, ESPECIALLY the first 2, and this had me laughing as well: http://blogs.laweekly.com/westcoastsound/2011/08/top_80_worst_lil_wayne_lines_o.php Apparently X mentioned he's finished an album already since hes got out of jail. Euthanasia? But yeah, I understand what you're saying, but who knows. I know Eminem got the rights to do Pac's Life from Pac's mom. Deathrow needs to recognize its time is up. They and Rap-A-Lot have been shitted on by artists/former artists of the label for awhile now. How many fake Z-Ro, UGK, Pimp C, and etc albums are gunna be released? Damn.... Deathrow did the same to Kurupt and Crooked I if I'm not mistaken, those are the first that came to mind. You can't control how long you live, but you can control how much you live. As do I, I enjoy all kinds of hip hop, lyrical or not, but I do put a lot of weight into lyrics when it comes to artists who are lyrical, or at least make themselves out to be lyrical. Music is about message, I can enjoy music I can just kick back, or let go to, but my favorite will always be the ones with a message. I'll have to peep that single when I wake up right now I'm zoning and don't plan to be up much longer so I can't possibly give it a fair listen.

My name is Josh, and I got a Joe Budden avatar lmao. I agree, I love the OG stuff moreso than pretty much all the remakes. More often than not theres a reason tracks are selected to get remade, and seemingly very RARELY are they because "Well that track could be improved upon" nah, its classic tracks that really don't need to be touched. People want to better the OG which more often than not is not possible. Perfect example: The Illmatic remixes, I love some of those remixes, but they're alternates, not better than the OG tracks. Eminem worked his vision out perfectly on that track. I will say Pac's Life was a meh at best, but Runnin' was stupendous. Lol DMX will never sell out. He's one of the last rappers who I could ever even think of doing that. He'll do the track/album right, believe that. I can respect some of the red tape, but some red tape is just spiteful "I have something you dont/cant have!" or that "if anyone is gunna do it I am!" type shit fuck that shit.

Thats good. Perfection is unattainable but it should be treated (reasonably) as it is so, so you work to better yourself everyday. Lol I think Pac has a lil more to do with the fact that that dude has new music leaking/coming out left and right. People don't write it off as just how serious about his work he was, how passionate he was about his music. But thats on them. Personally I think mortality should be something thats inspiring, not feared. MJ had that impact on everyone. The world, he was universal. His music will be played literally forever. No one will ever dethrone him as king. It's impossible. Nowadays more people (pretty much everyone at one time or another is guilty of this) just nod their head to the beat and skim the lyrics. Music became a background thing instead of something you relax, close your eyes and just emerse yourself in. I can't wait to get some good headphones to be able to do that. Noise canceling. <3 Haha I love that photo. Shit don't look over here.

Thats what I was saying when speaking about Aaliyah's name kind of fading away on TV as you said, or new music not seeing the light of day very often. Theres a lot of red tape with who owns what, whos toes will you be stepping on, etc. Like heres an example: WWE (back then WWF) had a wrestler die on one of their PPVs, Owen Hart. There was wrongful death suits out the ass, and very well justified, especially when you know the truth behind the whole situation. That said, his wife has rights to his name and likeness, and she wants NOTHING to do with WWE. She won't allow them to put out DVDs, put him in the Hall Of Fame, or even really mention him. Thats the kind of situation you deal with.

we lost a great young talent, then all of a sudden no mentions at all. I feel you on that, I'm always weary of posthumous albums, people overthink/produce/hype it, so it somehow lets people down. Like I won't lie, if you ask me what some of my favorite Pac albums are I will mention "Until The End Of Time" just as quick as an "Me Against The World," "All Eyez On Me" etc. They can be done and done well. 2014 sounds kind of random though... why wait 3 years? Whats the issue? If Tmbaland gets his hands on that I'm 100% sure he will. Wrong people get their hands on shit and the outcome can be atrocious, like I love Eminem, but that Pac album he did.... no beuno. He did a great job on "Runnin'" but some of those features even Pac would say "No, fuck that." Should have kept it a Pac album. Not a Modern day hip hop album, hosted by 2Pac (thats how it felt). Let Missy and Timbaland control it. It'll be done right. I also wanna hear X hop on one of those tracks though... I'm sure he'd rip it up.

Everyone wants to hear new music but I mean.. look at how people get on Diddy for how he supposedly milks BIGs name and legacy? She definitely inspired a lot of artists and I guarantee you as music moves on you will see more and more influenced by her cus you will be seeing more and more people who grew up hearing her music. Haha the Drake vs. J. Cole debate... ah... http://bossip.files.wordpress.com/2011/08/drake.jpeg?w=500&h=332&h=332 someones obviously happier to see each other more than the other LOL. J. Cole has A LOT of potential and some serious cosigns, I seriously can not wait for his album at the end of this month. 9/27 is gunna be a beautiful day for hip hop. Honestly... I think J-Lo changed her whole shit cus of who she was fucking at the time. JD... Ja Rule... Diddy... etc. and when she found success with it, she stuck with it. Perhaps thats exactly why, as morbid it as it sounds I remember Snoop saying something about BIG and Pac "had to die" for Hip Hop to change/prosper. As fucked up as that sounds... maybe thats what happened with Aaliyah and R&B - not to say she had to die, but her death brought more attention to that genre. I wonder how much of that not playing the music was out of respects for the family. I don't know how much it'd be cus the music emits a response. That's what you want. Shit, when MJ died people were playing the music nonstop and his music emitted responses from people as well. Something tells me there was someone asking for it not to be played, possibly out of respects to family or whatever. I don't believe it was something about the industry trying to lessen the exposure really. Alot of stars blossomed around that time. I can't say I'm a big R&B person especially back then though, but I remember seeing a lot of these instances you speak of. Lots of one hit wonders or short..

Damn dude all them shouts lol. - In a world where its perfect or bust, even the closest to perfect are made to feel less than the are by people who couldnt dream of ever even beginning to come close. Who knows if thats why there was some tension, wouldn't doubt it but at the same time I don't think it was. I don't know it still went on quite a bit after that but did die down a bit. As for the thing with Nas not going to wakes and everything... I can see where hes coming from. Its hard watching something like that, and Nas has experienced a lot of death in his life, even by the time Aaliyah died. I can't say I blame him, not to mention maybe in some way it makes him nervous or makes him realize his own mortality that even the best can be taken away at any time, and seeing that, experiencing that especially the amount of times he has, I can't say I blame him for being reserved on going to those things.

different ways, from rhyming, free-form. But poetry isn't a cut and dry thing, there isn't a "This is how you do it or fuck off" guide/layout for this shit lol. Long as you can be honest and express yourself you can write poetry. I also choose to recite mine, but you don't have to do that either. Its all on the artist how they go about their art. Different is good, not better. Yeah, but nonetheless the original reason behind the quote is irrelevant here when the message can be applied to so much more, and works.

Well good luck, its easier said than done but if you're about it put in the work, and make it your blood sweat and tears, somethings bound to come of it. As the saying goes you gonna be the change you want to see. You gotta bust your ass before you get to sit down on it and enjoy the spoils. Thats a good way to describe her. The approach now is less is more... unfortunately with that comes less talent = more sales, how I don't know but I guess those "Artists" are just easier to manipulate than the ones who are talented and know they got something going for themselves. Sounds good. Poetry doesn't have to be anything, its word on a page, raw emotion, it doesn't HAVE to rhyme, if you want it to you can. Poetry is what you make it. I tell people all the time who tell me they couldnt write poetry.. all poetry is is honesty, emotion, and expression, EVERYONE has those abilities as a human, just not everyone has the drive. I personally like my poetry to rhyme, but I've done my poetry in many

I try to be someone easy to communicate with because I want to communicate with others. I'm not the extraverted type at all. But I do want people to understand me, where I'm coming from, it sucks to be shrugged off. Theres a Dave Chapelle quote that speaks volumes: "The worst thing to call somebody is crazy, it's dismissive, "I don't understand this person, so they're crazy" - that's bullshit. These people are not crazy, they're strong people, maybe their environment is a little sick." Haha I know the feeling I'm the same goddamn way. People do that same shit to me, my circle is incredibly small now cus of that. I got my fiancee, my best friend Tom, my immediate family, aunt uncle, grandma, grandpa. Thats all I need. Most ghostwriters don't. Would you believe Frank Ocean helped pen tracks for artists like Rihanna, Justin Beiber, Brandy, John Legend, and Beyonce? Most of them even before he got his shine with OFWGKTA nonetheless on Watch The Throne. She was, she had a very powerful voice and delivery. Its rare when someone can have a message but at the same time you can relax, have fun, or whatever to their music as well. Thats an art lost in todays music. I can respect that greatly. I think more artists need to do that, especially these dudes that wanna talk street life when they haven't been involved with any of it for YEARS - if they ever were to begin with. That's why I respect a dude like Static, or Immortal Technique, they experience what they end up turning into art. Thanks, it really is. Dude.. start writing poetry or just thesis's on anything. Dead rappers got the most promotion back then because Hip Hop has been the biggest music style and culture movement of the last 25+ years. Is it fair? No, but thats unfortunately how it is. Yup I remember that, "The price of fame", "The 27 club" all that stuff. I honestly remember hearing about it on MTV, I was at home watching tv got bored playing video games and I was like damn.. I wasn't super familiar with her music, I only knew what was on TV. Didn't have money for CDs, and didn't have a computer, so her death never hit me like that. Some people are wise beyond their years, whether it be just a blessing, education/appreciation, or just by going through shit, bapstism by fire and learning the hard way. I know that way all to well. You have to be professional in that profession and most do go up all too quick. Its fall or fly in a lot of cases, and obviously Aaliyah flew. MJ also grew up very rough, he had no childhood at all. I think we all know the horror stories of Joe Jackson. I doubt Aaliyah would have done that, if her time was up at worse she'd just bow out gracefully or continue to entertain and understand she's not the act on main stage anymore - humility. But she has a blessing, I don't think she'd have to worry to much about falling off. I can understand that view but that ignores a lot of other stuff. Yes, she loved and wanted to be known as an entertainer, but she had friends, family, a fiance, I think she'd come to terms with that if that was the case. Thats awesome of DMX, I already respect him a ton..

Certain people are just blessed with talents, intelligence - I'm not one to push my beliefs onto anyone or fit them into a conversation, but I believe in god for one and I believe he blesses us in unique and different ways, as well and challenges us. Perhaps god took Aaliyah away for a bigger reason, so more people could hear her, feel her, understand and respect her message. Perhaps the message he had and delivered through her. People are fickle, always have always will be. Everyone is in their own ways. As I said... for artists death seems to be the best promo... unfortunately. Speaking of DMX... http://youtu.be/Y49c1FdqIEc not about Aaliyah but he mentions her in it. Its such a cliche saying but so many don't appreciate what they got till its gone. Genius of any form rarely is appreciated during its time, that whole hindsight being 20/20 is scary accurate because people look back like "Wow... that was something special... something unique", she was respected when she was alive, but shes been idolized since her death which is great, she deserves it. But you do get that sense of "Where was this extreme when she was alive." - I'm the same way though I didn't check out quite a few artists till after they passed. Quite a few of the greats passed when I was to young to truly appreciate what they brought to the table. As morbid as this may be to say... for an artist... death seems to be the best promotion, sadly. Haha that does sound like a bit much to say, but I know your sentiment there is good. She definitely was a talent that was on her own level. That whole people writing for others is stupid. Is there merit to it? For some music perhaps but I think singers not so much.
