When I think of that style I think of the Slick Ricks, the Rakims, and the Grandmaster Melle Mels of the world if we're talking where it started. Iunno if I agree with all that, but I can see where you're coming from. Sure. Malice found god, yeah, and he mentioned a name change but he said the music wouldnt change. Which one are you speaking off? Katt Willaims is great regardless of whatever youre speaking about lol.

Lol yeah but why give em any ammo? - I get it though, its a business move, I'm just fucking around, but I seriously doubt he'd go there if he plans to drop any music. I remember that shit with Rawse lmao smh. Dummy. That extravagant style of rap has been popular for awhile, but I see what you mean. Clipse is definitely underrated, they're fucking great. Til The Casket Drops is one of the better albums of the past few years. But yeah I feel ya about Pharrell lately, the fact Game was originally thinking of Pharrell doing the production for RED.... scary they don't mesh LIKE THAT, not for a full album. Glad that turned out to not be the case at all.

If he signed to Rocafella or Roc-Nation? You know what we'd be hearing all over again? "Nas Lost" smh. "Nas dropped Ether, but whos signed to whos label" dumb shit like that. I honestly don't know I wouldn't be shocked if a sleeper label came in a lesser known but still respected and effective, but I don't know all the labels their are out there to be honest, so I can't really have a solid opinion here. The only tags I actually don't mind to much are DJ Skee and Trapaholics kinda make me laugh. The awkward middle aged white man voice shouting over my "Get ignant" music lmao. What you mean about the Ross needing a picture book? Haha thanks I do find some amusing avatars. I think Mayer was thinking hug, then Kanye offered his hand, Mayer got surprised try to make the change and missed and tried to make a quick hug to save face and just failed miserably made it even more awkward lmao.

I know who you're talking about, wasn't to keen on her, just like Red Room, Brake Lights, Purp & Patron, and his last one are all better, IMO. Yeah I heard that, but I'm glad he didn't host it, Drama got the most annoying tags of any DJ. Both were cool, but I was more partial to the Exhibit C version as well. Rick Ross is legit when he wants to be. He's definitely taken a step up since the beef with 50. Deeper Than Rap seemed to be his turn around. Anything but Interscope or Def Jam, Interscope is also notorious for fucking with their artists. Ask 50 about that. Columbia would be better. I hope not Cash Money, don't want some forced features with those artists at all.

I'm very straight forward with people and honest. That said I don't go out of my way for anyone anymore. I'm a nice dude, I'll be the first to be there for someone, last to leave but to many take advantage of that shit. Now that I'm engaged I don't concern myself with that garbage anymore. I got my best friend, I got my babygirl, I got my family, and got some good news today... got my job. Fuck anyone else. Haha I know some people with some crazy connections, definitely, but unfortunately that doesn't mean I get to know who they know lmao.

Exactly, just cus something classic doesn't mean you can do it over, and over, and over again and still expect people to be like "This is the business!". Well I'm always down, hit me up whenever, I ain't hard to get in touch with lol. Some of those are really good, Ice-T is a good dude, I remember him doing an interview for one of my old friends cruddy lil internet radio shows. They weren't anyone special, but he still did it, talked about everything from the soulja boy situation and modern day hip hop to Law & Order and Cocoa lol. Somewhere in there he ended up talking about how he respects ICP and thats why he plays their annual show when they ask as well. Was all over the place.

Artists SHOULD know their audience better than anyone else. They're the ones going out and performing for them X amount of times a year. The old "Shaking hands, kissing babies" style but instead its "Rocking crowds, fucking groupies" lmao. I know exactly what you're saying and I think stepping out of the realm of normalcy is great for art and music. But like you said.... dont jeopardize your artistic integrity. Art without honesty in't worth the time spent on it. Creativity without integrity is just an idea without any weight or merit.

The important thing is that it stays respectable, to many people dont know how to talk music and be respectable nowadays. Shits ridiculous. Eminem still can rip a track like many others can only DREAM to. People who want the old Eminem need to hear the Jay-Z line "Want my old shit? Buy my old albums" an artist SHOULD mature and change, its good and healthy. You really think if Em was pushing 40 doing the same shit people would be behind him as much? No. They would be telling him "Your old ass needs to grow up" People are fickle and don't really think before they speak. They just don't like something and say they want the old style, which is stupid, redundant and a step back.

Haha yeah I feel ya, good convo. I'm saying, I try, I'm always joking/fucking around. I dont know much about the grammies I'd be lying if I said I ever watched one. But from recent memory, just hearing people talk about em, you seem right on. I think the Source needs to get a reality check and get rid of that bias they have against certain artists. Most famously: Eminem. Nas just needs to get back to his music, enjoy what he got, stop worrying about the bullshit, get back to what you seemingly love - music and just get back on your throne.

On his bday? September 14th? Yeah thats not happening lol thats like 3 weeks away. Well I'm saying if we're talking about initial releases though... a year from the relese date or whatever thats whatever. But if Nas drops it this year, people who go tp the record store will be like "Ok I wanna buy Nas album" it's less likely they'll be like "I want Nas, BUT OH SHIT THEY GOT THAT -X= MONTH OLD WEEZY ALBUM!" or something like that lmao. A lot of these award shows lately have been so fabricated you actually wonder if the shit is fixed at all.

I think you're overthinking that a lil lol. Most people go to the album store knowing what they want to buy. Whether it be one album, two, whatever. Will it help Nas being featured on two big albums like that? Yes, but I dont think as much people go to the record store with a "WELL SEE WHAT HAPPENS!" attitude anymore lol.

Weezy dropped some classic mixtapes. Evil Empire was dropping leak tapes left and right, everything went right - even when it apparently went wrong for Weezy. Iunno about that Pac point I don't doubt it. Well 50's last album was in 2009, Ross dropped an album before, 2 albums since (Teflon and Self Made), like 2 or 3 mixtapes, 50 hasnt done much at all musically since BISD. Hes having a lot of issues with Interscope - thats another label I hope Nas doesn't go to. Iunno, at this point those awards really lost a lot of their luster to me. I'll be shocked if Wayne wins a grammy for C4. But then again I was surprised when Bun got 5 mics last year as well. Its not so much about years though, its about quarters. Quite a few artists push shit back just to stay out of certain quarters as other big albums. And lets be honest.... how much control do you think Nas has over that?

Ehhhhh... C4 will amtch C3? I don't know about that... lol C3 went platinum the first week. 1mil first week. I dont think C4 will match that. But yes, those featured will get more shine but especially those like Tech N9ne and Cory Gunz the rest ahve done pretty well. Nas, Bun, Busta, Ross, Drake, John Legend, Bruno Mars, they all got their name out there pretty solidly right now. Nas, Jadakiss, Cory, and Tech it might help get people back behind em even more though.

Was she in jail when he wifed her? I didn't follow all that, I just know shes in jail now, and gets out soon doesnt she? or is she already out? I don't like when a rapper uses a mixtape to put out wack material thinking people will be like "Fuck this tape, makes me want the album more" Thats not how it should be. Give em the bread before to get em ready for the full course meal. The single should be the salad, the mixtape the bread basket, and the album the full course meal. That's all I got to say about that shit.

I don't see what the fuck it matter who someone does a song with as long as the song is good. Thats why i don't fuck with anyone elses opinion on music. I literally couldn't give a shit less about anyone else's view on music cus of the irrationality of some people. Labels and Nas should take notice of that, how hot people are for material. Look at Lil Wayne, thats why he was the hottest in the game between C2 and C3 people were FIENDIN for his music. He supplied it, and also the fake DJs got in on it, and that only added to it. Gotta supply the demand, if you dont the demand eventually diminishes and disappears. Hopefully Nas will do some smart shit and sign with a label that allows him some more artistic leeway and he doesn't have to scratch and claw just to HOPE to get to release a tape, nonetheless an album.

Lol where did Lil B come from? Lil B can rap when he wants to though. Theres numerous people that do the "based producer" Kreayshawn did for awhile, Clams Casino, Keyboard Kid, Young L, etc. I know where Game was coming from, but it was hilarious coming from him nonetheless. He is, I look past a lot of that bullshit cus I enjoy the music, you know the saying: "Worship the music not the musician. " I can respect Game wanting to be a good mentor and role model, but be about it, don't just live if for the moment then say fuck it for another moment.

A mixtape to a lot of people seems to be either a) album scraps/unreleased material that never seen the light of day from the past b) a hype builder filled with good material but not the best, or c) a full on street album. Haha Royce... I thought I was the only one that wasn't feeling BE3 TOO much, it had its moments. Crooked has his highs and lows as well. Budden on the other hand... (my favorite artist) he brings his A-Game on mixtapes, albums, features, whatever. CH has his moments of greatness and his moments of "Wtf was that....?" Papoose needs to not brag in general.... lmao. I'm sorry Pap is chill as an artist but what have you done Pap? Other than wife up Remy Ma, have a lil buzz off mixtapes, and have a album that will never see the light of day? No hate, but damn. Pap's mixtape quality has dropped off, I don't know if its cus he got some money or whatever, but it just has.

Never heard of that? It was big enough that even Eminem commented on it back when he was new. Google "Lauryn Hill Racist" and you'll see what I mean. I was talking about Jean Grae. If I'm not mistaking Invincible has fucked with the likes of Black Milk and other emcees & producers especially from the Detroit area (which is where shes from) as well. I've seen rappers sell that stuff as well, but yeah risks are ran that way. Lol Canibus label situation is ridiculous... the dude that signed him I've spoken with once or twice, and a lot of people I know know him as well. But I wont go into that. Exactly though about Nas, you have people who FIEND for just SNIPPETS of your stuff and you scrap shit? I think Nas could do very well if he did a mixtape here and there once in awhile. People love his music. It'd be eaten up.

Game needs to chill. I find it funny when Tyler, The Creator and Frank Ocean of OFWGKTA and Chris Brown was going at it on twitter Game was the one tryna come between saying "No one can come up on beef anymore nowadays, beef is stupid" then turns around and disses a MULTIPLE amount of people in one song. Like really? Game you are bipolar as fuck. That was Weezy's intention. Just like he didn't rap on "Interlude" and let Tech N9ne and Andre 3k rip it up. I'ma be quite honest with you... Wayne's "decent" singing is just picking the best of the worse lol. He's barebale on those songs you mentioned. But when you hear a track like So Special and then How To Love you see what Wayne SHOULD be doing for stuff like that. I agree with you point to an extent though, he cant be bareable when he wants to. Game needs to do Game. As for the mixtape/album thing, I got nothing against Game's hustle pre-album, most of the tapes were good (Red Room wasn't that good though IMO) and the album delivered.

(continued from last one) if a rapper doesn't wanna do em, thats their choice, no knocking. But don't knock mixtapes. Its a nice way to give back to your fans as well as well as a marketing tool. But yes... some rappers take mixtapes to an extreme, theres no denying that. Right, Charles Hamilton? Papoose?

Definitely peep it. Jean Grae got awesome albums as well. She got an album 9th did the production for exclusively. Another Blue Sky Black Death did the production for exclusively. A few others. She actually dropped a mixtape somewhat recently and has an album coming soon. Cant wait - when I was younger I had a crush on her, I aint even gunna lie lmao. I think the controversy with Ms. Hill started when people misconstrued that line about white people buying her albums. Miseducation is a classic in my eyes. Wish she'd come back and do some more, but something like 5 kids, god bless her, let her be a mama. I kinda wanna give grown up Bow Wow a chance. As for the mixtape thing, rappers need to stop that, I understand what they're saying, and I'm not knocking Nas. But mixtapes are a great marketing tool. Nas has a status where he dont really need to do mixtapes. But doing one doesnt hurt. This whole "I dont do shit for free you gotta pay for mine every rhyme is gold" stuff is silly.

Iunno about 9 he was born in 82 so that would bring him to 91, maybe shortly thereafter but hes definitely been doing it since he was young enough to be considered a kid. Yeah Lil Wayne has been consistent with his shit, people talk about the Blood shit, and I see their point but he's always rapped as if he was part of that life, even if he isn't. I'm glad he left the rock thing behind... his singing is atrocious lol. I got nothing against Shyne changing himself for the better as a man, god bless him for that. But his music... bootycheeks lmao. In anything you have to pay your respects and pay your dues, thats just how it is and should stay. People who change to much people start questioning who they really are. Different but look at Game's flip flopping with the beef shit. People get on him about that. Thats very different from changing your music but you can see the point im trying to make.

Lol I didn't say that about age, I said that he's been put on since a youngin, so for him to act as if hes rough now is ridiculous as you just said. Jay-Z and Bow Wow also came up in very different times both literally, and for hip hop as well. Jay-Z also didn't get to enjoy the same life as a youngin as Bow Wow did either. So when Jay-Z came out talking his shit, there was at least some people that were like "Oh Sean? Yeah... he aint bullshittin..."

Yeah Shyne said he wont cuss anymore and hes all about his religion now. As for all you said about Tyga, Drake, and Nicki - I'm not saying this as a fan. I'm saying this as someone who is watching a business a company market their assets. I don't mind Tyga, Drake is aight when he wants to be, I can't listen to Nicki, I'm not even gunna touch the rest of that Young Money crew like Gudda Gudda, Lil Twist, and Lil Chuckee. However, fact of the matter is Tyga, Drake, and Nicki have a solid base they can exploit. Thats all. As for female emcees, I'm partial to Lauryn Hill, Jean Grae, and Invincible - Invincible's "Shapeshifters" album is one of my favorites of the last few years. I shouldn't have to tell you about Jean Grae and especially Ms. Hill. No, I haven't checked Rapsody, but I'll keep her in mind. I know what Bow Wow use to rap about, I'm familiar with the old music, I haven't heard anything from him since Freshazimiz though.

Shyne needs to stop that shit yesterday. But now hes on that hardcore jewish stuff, so Shyne will never be Shyne again. Yeah I heard about Wayne retiring, but I doubt he'll be gone forever. But good for him, he said he wants to be there for his kids, and thats awesome. Hopefully now they will be smart about getting their artists out. Tyga got a loyal following, and of course Drake and Nicki does, I completely forgot about Bow Wow...I just think his issue is hes been around since he was so little, so when he tries to get street cred its like "You been rapping since you were like... 11 man". You can say that didn't affect Wayne or whomever, but Wayne was groomed and back in the day Cash Money, No Limit, and the like were a lot more respected street cred wise. Do you like Bow Wow?

Yeah I'm not a super picky person either, the only thing I can say that is negative that I KNOW won't change in time is Shyne belonged nowhere near that album. He fucked up a flow of a song that was going great before him. I understand he's signed to Cash Money, but still... damn...

I honestly cant remember things by track number but I liked a majority of RED as well as WTT. I dont know if that was Game putting in work or just tryna keep his hype alive while he tries to find a final release date lol. I'm sure Nas COULD but I wouldn't expect the same outcome. I love Nas but he's not gunna sell like a Jay-Z and/or Kanye nowadays unfortunately. Definitely those are some other big ones, also looking forward to stuff like Evidence, Phonte, J. Furreal; I didn't really take her seriously as an artist until "E.T." dropped, even though "California Gurls" was aight (especially (certain parts of) the video lol ^_^). I definitely think the former track is epic without Kanye even though he brings a juxtaposed vibe to the joint like Snoop does (better) with the latter. Good loox on that recognition; I've been finally getting some recommendations so expanding it has been easier. B-D lol
