I don't think Mr. E has ever written a happy song without a hint of sadness or irony. For example, between the chorus in Mr. E's Beautiful Blues ("Goddamn right, it's a beautiful day, uh-huh") E mentions how an elephant wont forget what it's like inside his cage and a clown with a frown driving to the fair while having his "finger on the trigger"
