Sat 29 Sep – Serpent Sermon Tour

Saturday 29th September 2012 saw the light (and darkness) of another Massive Music event at London’s favourite underground venue The Underworld. This time the Polish promotional agency put up the “Serpent Sermon” tour featuring the headliners Marduk and Immolation. Just by looking at those names one would have no doubt that the event would be massive. But that was not enough for the organizers! We were treated to some stellar support acts: De Profundis (UK), Forsaken World (France) and Dead Beyond Buried (UK).

One of these bands, lesser-known and more underground despite the fact they’ve been around for more than two decades, is Pandemonium, hailing from the city of Łódź. I recently caught Anthrax, Testament and Death Angel at the Congress Theater, Chicago (October 15th 2011) on the 1st leg of their US tour in support of their new album Worship Music – just released in September 2011.
The triple bill opened with thrash metal veterans Death Angel, known for their high energy shows since their days in front of Cliff Burton at Ruthie’s Inn. The band did not disappoint playing a set list that included fan favorites highlighted by, Evil Priest, a thrash metal classic from the 1987 album The Ultra Violence.

Perversity is a death metal band from Slovakia which has been grinding out extreme music for over 15 years. During this incredible span the group has managed to release just 4 albums: In the Garment of Lust (2003), Words like Poison (2004), Beyond the Reach of Heaven (2008), and Ablaze (2001).
