Frank Zappa, Narciso Yepes, Pierre Boulez, Pepe Romero, and a shitload of Mozart Symphonies. Lots of Spanish guitar, too. Zappa? Yeah, really.

Carinilumpyhead's Grateful Dead Masterpieces, Vol. 1: Dead Set [Discs 1-2]
Whether you're a casual listener to the grooviness of the Grateful Dead, or a lifelong devotee of the Deadhead way of being, "Dead Set" is just one of those quintessential recordings that no fan's library should be without. Excerpted from a home stand in San Fransisco in 1981, we get to hear, as Bob so eloquently put it back in '75, "people joining hand in hand, while the music plays the band," and few commercially released Dead concerts before or since contain the magic qualities Bear managed to capture on this record. One of my all-time faves. The cover art is nothing if not simply beautiful and iconic, too. Enjoy!

Phish - Live at the Hampton Coliseum, Hampton, VA - 11.20.98 [Sets I-II]
This show happens to rate among my phavorites, both historically and within my own personal archives. Fortunately, the band felt so good about this show and its sister show the following night (11.20-21.1998), that they decided to release both on a six disc mini box set entitled [i]Hampton Comes Alive[i] not long after the shows were played. I have bootleg recordings from the original soundboard FLACs, and it's truly amazing what their techs did to clean up the sound quality for commercial release. The entire show is here, minus some stage banter and tuning paises. Dephinitely a Phan's Phavorite. Enjoy.

Kids, How About A Bit Of Quality Time With Your Old Uncle Bill?
Nobody's written fiction translates to musically accompanied spoken-word records like that of the inimicable William S. Burroughs. Here are two albums, "Spare Ass Annie And Other Tales", and "Dead City Radio". Both contain excerpts from some of Burroughs' most iconic works, including [i]Naked Lunch[i], [i]Interzone[i], and [i]The Western Lands[i]. Warning: This is not for the faint of heart or weak of stomach; graphic depictions of sex, violence, and depravity, along with severe use of explicit profanity. Would it be Burroughs any other way??
