1. Which song do you prefer, #1 or #40?
#1 is a typical Britpop ballad, that I actually heard for the first time. #40 is a power pop song that someone put on a mixtape that I got. None of them really touch me emotionally, but on the whole I think I prefer #1.

2. Have you ever listened to #12 continuously on repeat?
No. I hardly ever do that anymore, sometimes did that when I was young. Good song though, to do that! Has kind of a dub reggae feel.

3. What album is #26 from?
Mainstream

4. What do you think about the artist who did #15?
I prefer the lower, menacing songs, like diesel power. Sometimes it’s just too much, not enough melody, too much volume, not very subtle.

5. Is #19 one of your favorite songs?
No, it’s Brazilian chill music, very sexy as usual, but couldn’t sing it if you asked.
2.
6. Who does #38 remind you of?
3. Nobody in particular, never heard friends about the song or something.

7. Does #20 have better lyrics or music?
Better music, as it is an instrumental… Like it though.

8. Do any of your friends like #3?
No, don’t think there’s even one that ever heard it, as it is kind of obscure! One of my friends that lives in Canada might like it, and I think another one as well.

9. Is #33 from a movie soundtrack?
Nope, their first album before they broke in the Netherlands

10. Is #18 overplayed on the radio?.
Not on Dutch radio, the only songs they play by the Cure are the biggest hits here, and this is not one of them. I guess a Forest or Close to you are the ones that are played most.

11. What does #21 remind you of?
4. Not much in my personal life, it’s just that I suddenly realized that the She in this song might be cocaine. Funnily the other one has nose in the title too! Even weirder while I write this, a day after the original 40, Ski Jump Nose comes up again!

12. Which song do you prefer, #5 or #22?
One of them is old ska from the 60s, the other one Cuban. I prefer #22, it sounds better in the end.
5.
13. What album is #17 from?
Block Rockin’ Beats

14. When did you first hear #39?
A friend of mine had the album, I taped it from him. Cassettes, it’s before your time! So that would be 1981 or so.

16. What genre is #8?
Britpop I guess
6.
17. Do any of your friends like #14?
Yes, at least 3 of my best friends do. This is also one of his best albums, “Heroes”.
7.
18. What color does #4 remind you of?
Blue of course!

19. Have you ever blasted #11 on your stereo?
Probably when I was younger… Not much of a blaster now, and I live in an appartment…

20. What genre is #37?
Country rock I guess.

21. Can you play #13 on any instrument?
No, I can't play anything on an instrument. This would be difficult anyway, Samba on an acoustic guitar?
8.
22. What is your favorite line from #30?
Don’t look back, a new day is breakin’
9.
23. What is your favorite lyric from #23?
I can’t imagine liking the lyric. The song sucks as far as I’m concerned, loud and ugly. Not even looking them up, so

24. Would you recommend #24 to your friends?
I would. It’s melancholic, and about being young, very pretty and impressionistic.

25. Is #2 a good song to dance to?
No, not at all

26. Do you ever hear #16 on the radio?
No, maybe late at night on an album programme fat chance though.

27. Is #32 more of a “nighttime” or “daytime” song?
Night time, it’s a dnce song.
10.
28. Does #36 have any special meaning to you?
No, album filler by the Charlatans. Not a single, or a song that I shared with friend, or heard going out.

29. Do any of your friends like #31?
I never heard anyone about her lately. One of my friends had the first album, but he’s not that much into music anymore.

30. Is #25 a fast or slow song?
I'd say it's pretty fast.

31. Is #35 a happy or sad song?
A bit sad, about a man crying, gf left him.

32. What is one of your favorite lyrics from #9?
All the lyrics are fun. I live in one of the few countries where a song that’s full on about drugs vcan be a hit, and not being cesored or anything. Smart people know not to start on drugs anyway, if a song pulls you over you didn’t need much anyway.

33. Is #34 better to listen to alone or with friends?
Alone. It’s already quite embarrassing listening to it alone…

34. When did you first hear #27?
After buying the album, not long after he died.

35. Name 3 other songs by the artist who did #29?

Rock This Town
11. Rumble In Brighton
12. Stray Cat Strut

36. Do you know all the words to #6?
No. I often bought compilation CD’s, especially on sale. Sometimes I wouldn’t know all songs, and this is an example of something that’s not my cup of tea (although that compilation has plenty of cool songs)
13.
37. Does #28 have better lyrics or music?
Lyrics, very distinct drum pattern too. Like it!

38. What album is #10 from?
Signing Off
