Roll with the Wind
“Our battered suitcases were piled on the sidewalk again; we had longer ways to go. But no matter, the road is life” - Jack Kerouac | Modest Mouse, Yo La Tengo, The Morning Benders, and 23 other artists score your next road trip, right here. I found a nice melange of catchy Indie Rock and mellow Indie Folk with appropriate lyrics and titles. | That USB connection on your car stereo might come in handy after all...

2012: a premature round-up (Side B)
Seventeen tracks summing up the past seven months in indie releases, rounded up from the more laid-back part of my library. | The red thread this time around is instant-lovability, a lot of easy to connect to but underexposed indie label songs that would only ever play on the radio if said radio were placed in an indie flick that I personally bankrolled. | You'll hear Magic Trick, The Tallest Man on Earth and Spiritualized ao. | Tags: Fun Summer Nights Fuzzy 2012 Dreamy

2012: a premature round-up (Side A)
Seventeen tracks summing up the half-year in indie releases, rounded up from the more rocking part of my library. | Controlled bluesy guitar bits, reverby vocals, dense productions, anthemic drumming and psychedelic/shoegazy injections are all part of the deal if you push play. | Featured artists include Sharon Van Etten, Grizzly Bear and Beach House. | tags: shoegaze, americana, chill wave, 2012, psychedelic, indie rock

Navel-gazing, the mix
What we have here is one of them best-of dealios, cherry-picked from my previous 28 mix-tapes. | Indie pop favorites and quirky thingamajigs fell by the wayside, left is Indie folk with a gloomy edge, build ups to climaxes of varying subtlety, and singers that make dinstinct vocal choices. | This particular belly-button themed mix includes 17 songs from guys like Sufjan Stevens, Arcade Fire and Neutral Milk Hotel, you know, unknowns starved for exposure.

Kissable, meet attainable.
In these woods, indie rock songs with big "choruses" encounter the exotic temptresses of freak folk, dreamgaze and chillwave for a roll around. Some synths may cross the road, don't be alarmed, they're more scared of you than you are of them. P.S. 17 songs; Broken Social Scene, Animal Collective, Grizzly Bear, a.o.

Judge Artists by their Covers Vol. 5
Because sometimes, originals have room for improvement. | Volume 5: the bipolar edition (23 tracks) | This volume suffers from a mood disorder, from gently moving over heavily sad up to light and dreamy. Something for everyone but not likely everything for someone (except myself). | Covered are, for starters, The Flaming Lips, Sufjan Stevens and Joni Mitchell.

Judge Artists by their Covers Vol. 4
Because sometimes, originals have room for improvement. | Volume 4: The Eclectic '80s Covered Imaginitively (hold the overly respectful snoozers) | This volume deals with today's bands covering (for the most part) signature tunes dating back to the '80s and '90s, making for an accesible, upbeat rock compilation. | Great covers bring fans and bands together in reverence of another musician, these are 20 of those rarities. Bands taken on include The Smiths, Neutral Milk Hotel and The Magnetic Fields.

I'd Die If I Could Come Back New: a soundtrack for December loneliness
8 songs for those days when even "a fresh wind and bright skies to enjoy your suffering" seems to much to ask for, your favorite poet's words turn into a jumble and Watership Down begins to feel like It's a Wonderful Life... Dark Horses Born in 2011
Some (ten) 2011 favorites that have withstood the test of time (they've held up for a whopping two months so far), this third reworking of my top 100 of 2011 mix focuses on the songs I've discovered by bands whose work I scarcely knew at the start of the compiling. Hopefully, there's a handful of pleasantries in this picknic basket for someone else out there as well. Three hints: Timber Timbre, White Denim, Dark Mean.
