Which song do you prefer, #1 or #20?
ooh… say hi to your mom vs. mike doughty. had it been two different songs by these bands we might have seen a different outcome, but i gotta side with Where Have You Gone? as it's one of my all time favorite songs.
What album is #2 from?
lets build a fire
What do you think about the artist who did #3?
loves the acorn. loves.
Is #4 one of your favorite songs?
i couldn't pick this song out of a line up. certainly i could pinpoint it as the magnetic fields, although i do often confuse them with jens lekman…
Who does #5 remind you of?
hawaii. i first learned of deerhoof while i was living on oahu. i got to see them in concert after only hearing a few of their songs on the college radio station. after the concert i was hooked. i went to another of their concerts the following night; and i am dying to see them in concert again someday.
Does #6 have better lyrics or music?
i'm gonna go with music. i don't think i fully understand the lyrics of this song. great melody, though.
Do any of your friends like #7?
anyone who does not like this song doesn't know their elbow from their ass.
What does #8 remind you of?
honestly… it reminds me of last sunday when i went to wash my baby dreads for the first time and this was the first song that played.
i totally rocked this song in the shower, by the way.
Which song do you prefer #9 or #19?
i'd refer you to the only other journal i have.
so obsessed with education.
When did you first hear #10?
50 fine lines mixed album that i got off of the i guess i'm floating music blog.
What genre is #11?
i really don't pay attention to genres. they don't serve me.
What color does #12 remind you of?
rainbow color?
Can you play #13 on any instrument?
well, jeepers, i've never tried. but i'm pretty sure i could rock it on an accordion.
What is your favorite lyric from #14?
seriously? pick a favorite lyric from a modest mouse song? never ending math equation none the less? that song is a non-stop fucking lyrical extravaganza.
"the universe works on a math equation that never even ever really ends in the end."
and of course, who could forget…
"oh my god and oh my cat."
Is #15 a good song to dance to?
every song is a good song to dance to, especially any boy least likely to. they are so g'damn poppy.
Is #16 more of a "nighttime" or "daytime" song?
err… daytime… i guess?
Is #17 a happy or sad song?
i'm not really good enough friends with this song to tell you whether it's happy or sad.
Is #18 better to listen to alone or with friends?
well, i do enjoy sharing this song with friends, but i also really enjoy belting it out in the car when i'm all by my lonesome.
have you ever seen #19 live?
37 DAYS, BABY!!!
how did you find out about the band who's #20?
shit, fuck, piss, i don't remember. did i stumbleupon this band? i really can't recall, but i'm awful glad i did.
thanks for the good time, chuck o'fuckingconnor.
by the way, i encourage you all to do this and then send me the link, 'cause i would love to read about your random songs.
