This Saturday, the smart money says head down to Macmillan’s Big Mix festival in Shoreditch where over 80 acts, including Newton Faulkner, Clare Maguire and CockNBullKid, will be performing across 10 venues.

The one day metropolitan music festival, which runs from midday until late, features everything from unplugged acoustic rooftop performances at the Queen of Hoxton to late night DJ sets at the Light Bar. Taking over Rich Mix, a line-up including the folktronic James Yuill, retro-inspired girl group The Pipettes, the Treetop Flyers ahead of their Glasto performance and will be the perfect way to see the evening in.

Over at The Light Bar, DJ sets from the likes of BBC Radio 1 DJ Edith Bowman, The Charlatans front man Tim Burgess and Zero 7’s Sam Hardaker take the tempo up a notch.

Expect the Rufus to come down at comedy venue Concrete when moustacheod Celebrity Juice star Rufus Hound leads the way amongst his comic compadres Kevin Eldon, Diane Spencer, Chris Mayo and Romesh Ranganathan at what is set to be the funniest stage in Shoreditch.

The Big Mix is taking over many more venues across E1 with live acts, entertainment and a fashion market at Spitalfields; Cabaret at the Brickhouse; hip hop, live art and karaoke with Le Scratch at Cargo, a Bangers and Mash party at 93 Feet East and nights curated by Tony N from creative music agency Burntprogress at Vibe Bar and Raw Power at The Macbeth.

Macmillan hope to make £40,000 from The Big Mix and all proceeds will help make the difference between a good and a bad day for people affected by cancer, through giving practical, emotional and financial support.
