Enjoyed this year quite a bit, here are a few of my favorite things:

For the second year in a row, Brainfeeder has once again produced the most entertaining record I was able to hear this year.
Ever since last year's "MmmHmm" from Flying Lotus’ Cosmogramma, I've been patiently awaiting Stephen Bruner's debut solo record as Thundercat. The long wait for this full-length proved infinitely rewarding after months of having to suffice only with the George Duke cover of "For Love (I Come Your Friend)" on repeat, a Thundercat mixtape posted by Flying Lotus, the BBC mix where Brainfeeder took over in Los Angeles for Radio1's BenjiB and featured some incredible jam sessions, and above all, the live performance I was fortunate enough to catch on June 20th at the Bowery Ballroom of NYC with Thundercat alongside Flying Lotus and Austin Peralta, easily the greatest highlight of the year.
The end of August finally arrived and presented the greatest album I would hear this year from a veteran bass player who has found himself a perfect niche in the exploratory musical sphere of the Brainfeeder crew.
The perfect album for 2011 and highly recommended for all.
