Do you realize how sad and depressed a man could be knowing that his favorite band No Doubt broke up and hasn’t made music in over 10 years.

Never really talked much, but from Deadbeat Club, you’ve been in my following list. Would you do me a favor? Please play anything from artist name Tomomi Midair World. I’d like for her to get enough listeners to be on the similar artist lists.

Only saw them play a couple songs, they sounded ok, not really my thing. I'm not too into the all instrumental bands. We were walking around the venue while they were playing checking out all the photos on the walls. They do the tv tapings for the Austin City Limits program there and they have a ton of neat pictures of Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Dylan, and pretty much every artist that rolls through there. Tons of history. I was pretty surprised by how full the venue was for Russian Circles, I think there's a little bit of buzz for the band.

LeavinHere has Higher Truth high on his album list so I thought I'd give it a listen. It's not bad. I'm not a big fan of Cornell or Soundgarden but I thought it was OK.

I just checked. I did scrobble it 9 times. I bet it was during a shuffle session because I do recall hearing many Pepper songs I wasn't familiar with.

But I'm sure it's a case of, I didn't give it the chance it deserves. I'm mainly waiting until I'm ready for something new. I'm still only 1/2 way thru memorizing everything else.

I listened to it back when it was new when iTunes briefly allowed users to stream it and other new albums a week before its official release. At the time, I didn't care much for it. I'm a little hesitant to revisit it again. I don't want to buzz-kill my CP marathon I got going right now. Lol.

Do you use Facebook? If so I've set up a group called The Deadbeat Club (we had one on LFM until recently) and your welcome to join. Let me know if you're interested and I'll send you the details.

Yeah, almost forgot about that FNM, I wasn't that excited about that one either, seemed like a really short album too. Supposedly there's some new thrash from Megadeth, Anthrax, Slayer and Testament due by the end of the year plus a new Iron Maiden. So hopefully we'll be able to finish the year on a high note.

So far... Torche's Restarter, Bjork's Vulnicura, Best Coast - California Nights and Florence and the Machine's How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful. Also Sammy Hagar put out a pretty good live album called Sammy Hagar and the Circle. Overall though, this has been a slow year so far. How about you, what have you been listening to?

I haven't tried anything with F# yet but I have a coworker that did some really interesting fractal graphics with it. I was going to try to learn a new language so I bought a book on ruby last year but I haven't dug into it all that much at this point. Maybe I will this year.... As far as a carriage return, I think it's just the vbCrLf key word.

The code that you compile in .Net falls under managed code which takes care of garbage collection, if you're doing something outside of that framework then you have to worry about memory management. Here's something I found on Stackoverflow regarding managed and unmanaged code: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/3563870/difference-between-managed-and-unmanaged

I've been doing VB programming pretty much since I got out of school in 2004. I've touched some different ones like C#, ruby, perl and some other stuff but primarily I do vb. Once you know one language it's pretty easy to switch to another one as the concepts are always the same.

.Net is the IDE, kind of like Eclipse is for java if you used that one. ASP is just one type of project you can do in .Net. I do application development which is tailored to running on a computer and ASP is a web based application. C# is similar to java and in fact I think Microsoft got sued for basically stealing the language. For the most part the syntax is pretty much the same and plus .Net will handle all the basics, you just have to figure out how to make your logic work.
