I took a friend with me who hasn't heard anything post-rock or from Mono before ( I think only just one song I've showed him) and he was quite amazed too. They put a lot energy in their performance although the two guitarists are sitting most of the time. To see them live is recommendable iny any case. I wasn't that much around lately as well. It's good to hear that you're fine. =) Thank you for the info, I'll check that out and hopefully I'll be able to see Muse at least once this year.

Nah, don't think you're a geek at all! That's an excellent way of describing them. For me, I've always admired their own individual genius but to me, Paul and John got the best out of each other. They were so close and I genuinely believed they loved each other, not in a homosexual way but as in brothers, and I always feel partly empty when I realize such a collaboration is impossible now. John is my favorite too! Something about him, I just felt an instant connection, and it only intensified as I knew more about him. His wit, his genius, his mannerisms and his attitude, I think he was a fascinating man, it's no wonder he's still so fondly regarded even today-- when he's been gone for so long. John remains my personal hero despite his flaws. I don't think him to be a deity. Regrettably, he was still a human just like us, who could be shot down and hurt and killed, just like us. I am still so awed by him though and have loads of respect for what he did so he'll always be my favorite.

That being said, I'm still happy to Muse, The Beatles, and Radiohead sitting at the top where they should be. And like you suggested I got Absolution first and am taking the past days to get a good feel for their song and I must say, I am ashamed I didn't find them sooner. Actually, I would credit you for giving me that boost to finally start listening to them so thanks! So far, stand out tracks for me are Falling Away With You (nice sound), Thoughts of a Dying Atheist, and Ruled By Secrecy, to name just a few anyway. I'm very pleased with the album already really! ♥

More like rural town where Ke$ha and Lady Gaga are heralded as the best music has to offer. :l You're definitely right about Matt, you know when you get that feeling where you just know you've felt the magic? I can feel that with Muse already and I'm happy The Beatles aren't the only ones who can make me feel that way. I plan on it at least! I dunno when (or even if) Paul will make it down here but I'll be all over those tickets when he does. I adore him but I see what you mean. The Lennon/McCartney partnership was absolutely brilliant, I only wish I could have seen them together, or even better, all 4 Beatles! Would John happen to be your favorite Beatle?
