Superheroes!

With all the superhero movies coming out in the last few years, it got me thinking. How many songs out there are there about specific superheroes? That combined with me having a lot of spare time on my hand added up to this playlist. :)
1. Stop Talkin’ About Comic Books or I’ll Kill You by Ookla the Mok
I had to put this songs first purely because it mentions a ridiculous amount of comic book superheroes. As far as I can tell everything this group does is comic book related, but this song takes the cake.
2. Spiderman by The Ramones
You can't beat the Spiderman theme done by The Ramones.
3. Captain America by Jimmy Buffett
A tribute to the man in red, white and blue. Until I started making this playlist I didn't even know this song existed, despite the fact that it was actually in my iTunes. It's a fun song. If you like Jimmy Buffett you'll probably like this song.
You can't have a playlist like this and not have this song. The whole soundtrack is great, but this song is a classic.
5. Catch Me Now I'm Falling by The Kinks
A great song about Captain America. One of the best songs on the playlist without a doubt.
6. Dan Dare (Pilot Of The Future) by Elton John
A classic album track from the 1975 album Rock Of The Westies. It's exactly what the title suggests, a song about the British comic book superhero, Dan Dare.
7. Superman by Sister Hazel
One of the many songs about Superman. It is one of the better ones though.
8. Cartoon Heroes by Aqua
Not about a specific superhero, just them in general. It's Aqua at their crazy, poppy best.
9. Ghost Rider by Rollins Band
Suprisingly this song is from The Crow soundtrack. The only song that I know of that's about this particular hero.
The theme song to the 1980 movie Flash Gordon, so obviously it's about that Flash.
11. That's Really Super, Supergirl by XTC
One of my favorite songs on the playlist. The song is so 80s, but I love it. :P
12. Hero by Chad Kroeger & Josey Scott
This is of course from the first Spiderman movie. I'm not a huge Spiderman fan, but I love this song.
13. Iron Man by Black Sabbath
You can't not have this song
14. Jimmy Olsen's Blues by Spin Doctors
Though not a superhero himselft, he is important in the Superman verse. I remember hearing this song all the time when I was a kid.
15. Everyone's a Hero (In Their Own Way) by Nathan Fillion
Captain Hammer's big song in Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog. He totally counts as a superhero. He thinks so anyway…
Another one not about a particular superhero. It does mention Wolverine though.
17. Surfing With the Alien by Joe Satriani
A truly great song about the Silver Surfer.
18. Mutants in Mega-City One by Fink Brothers
Specifically mentions Judge Dredd.
19. The Man of Metropolis Steals Our Hearts by Sufjan Stevens
Another song about Superman. A great track from the Illionoise album.
20. Ode To A Superhero by "Weird Al" Yankovic
An ode to Spiderman done to the melody of Piano Man
21. Batman & Robin (feat. The Lady of Rage & RBX) by Snoop Dogg
Yes, Snoop Dogg did do a song about Batman & Robin.
22. What Ever Happened To The Heroes by Joss Stone
A great song from the Fantastic 4 movie soundtrack
23. The Supreme Being Teaches Spider-Man How To Be In Love
A song from the Spiderman 3 soundtrack.
24. Superman (It's Not Easy) by Five For Fighting
You can't have lived in the last decade without hearing this song at least once. Its probably one of the most overplayed songs ever. Despite this, it really is a good song.
25. Ninja Rap by Vanilla Ice
I really am a child of my generation. I remember loving the ninja turtles when I was a kid, and I loved this song and the movie it came from. It's a bit cheesy looking back, but I can't help but like it.
26. The Ballad of Barry Allen by Jim’s Big Ego
A good song about The Flash.
27. Superman's Song by Crash Test Dummies
Yes, another song about Superman. :)
28. Waitin' for a Superman by The Flaming Lips
And here's another one
29. Sunshine Superman by Donovan
And yet another one. A classic song.
30. Spider-Man Theme (Junkie XL Remix) by Michael Bublé
A cool version of the Spiderman theme.
