Yeah Folkodia's sound quality on both their myspace and cd is poor but I still enjoy it. Some of the stuff that has really crappy production/studio sound quality can be just as awesome as the stuff that is very overproduced. Do you have any concerts that you are really looking forward to in 2009?

Top new bands of 2008 are probably Heidevolk, Folkodia, Kalmah, Kivimetsän Druidi, Frightmare, and Alestorm. I am really glad I started listening to these bands. I know there is alot of bands that I discovered in '08 but I just can't think of them all right now. I plan on discovering a lot more bands in 2009.

Happy New Year to you too!! Yes 2008 was a good year for me as well. What are your top 3 albums/EP's that came out in 2008? My 3 are Amon Amarth- Twilight of the Thunder God, Moonsorrow- Tulimyrsky (EP), and the number 3 spot is a tie between Equilibrium- Sagas and Alestorm- Captain Morgan's Revenge

As for videogame music goes my buddy really got me into Mega man and Street Fighter 2 I also have been listening to a lot of Zelda from the Twilight Princess game. I got the new Alestorm ep and its pretty awesome the songs Leviathan and Wolves of the Sea are excellent Weiber und Wein is actually Wenches and Mead sung in German which is pretty cool and the song Heavy Metal Pirates is really catchy. Its a really good ep so check it out when you can.

Hey I also see you listen to some video game music. My buddy has really gotten me into v.g. music lately, and has really pointed out the metal influence within some of the old video game soundtracks.

Alright I will check that band out when I get a chance. As for Alestorm I am the same way you are I had to listen to them a few times before I could really get into them. Their new ep comes out in stores around the world in January, but you can do like I did and order it now off of the Napalm records website. They also have one of the new songs off of the ep on their myspace its called Wolves of the Sea it's pretty awesome.

So I checked out those bands and I like Disillusion and One step beyond, but I wasn't really getting into Gojira. My friend pointed out that they are a lot like Mastodon which I really don;t care for them either. Its just not my style, but I did like the other two. One step beyond is very different and has a really funky bass behind some of the riffs. Thanks for the recommendations

Cool I will check those bands out. Yeah Heidevolk really does grow on you I like Saksenland, Koning Radboud, Walhalla Wacht, and Woden Heerst. As for Svartsot I like what I hear I just haven't gotten around to picking up some of their material. I will do that soon though I have just been really busy with school and work.

I'll give any style of music a chance but I like Thrash, some Death, Melodic Death, Traditional Heavy Metal, I like a few bands out of the Doom Metal genre, Power. So I will give anything a chance. Give me some examples of some prog Death bands. I like Death's later stuff like off of Symbolic that stuff is awesome.

I really like Tyr so that will be awesome to see them headline, but to also see SuidAkrA again will be awesome and I have only really hear 1 song by Alestorm so it will be interesting to see them. As for SuidAkrA I prefer all of their stuff the older stuff is awesome but their newer stuff is pretty good also. Check out a band called Heidevolk I just got into these guys but I already love them.

So I have been trying to think of any bands that really sounds like Amon Amarth but I couldn't think of any. So I went and asked my friend who showed me a lot of the bands I like, and he said there is no band that has the same sound but at times other Melodeath can have some similar sounding riffs. But there is no band that sounds just like Amon Amarth. As for the Fate of Norns album I really like it cause the riffs flow together really nicely and Johan's vocals are really powerful on a lot of the songs.

Yeah Finntroll's great its a different style of folk metal. I enjoy it it is quite catchy. I recommend the songs Trollhammaren, Jakten's Tid, Kitteldags, Urswamp, Rivfader, and Midnattens Widunder are just a few songs to get you started with. Now my favorite Amon Amarth album that's tough cause With Oden on our side was my first Amon Amarth album so it holds a special place in my heart but I find myself listening to a lot of stuff off of Fate of Norns. So i would say its a toss up between those two. Though all the other albums are right up there with those two. They really haven't made a bad album yet. What's your favorite Amon Amarth album? Yeah and check out Finntroll when you get a chance cause they are playing at Heidenfest Tour 2008 which I see your going to.

Hey So I went and saw Finntroll yesterday. Which was really cool seeing them for a 2nd time. It was a pretty good set list, but it will never beat the first time I saw Finntroll last year that concert will always hold a special place in my heart. It was cool cause it was the singer Vreth's birthday so that was a treat the crowd sang Happy Birthday to him it was cool. I can't wait cause on October 13th Amon Amarth and Ensiferum are coming to Chicago so I am reall pumped for that.

Hey so I heard 5 new songs off the new Amon Amarth album. 3 out of 5 are really good, then there is one thats not that good and one thats awesome. It seems like it will be a good album. The guitars are heavier sounding and Johan's vocals are raspier. Glad to see your enjoying Equilibrium!
