uhmm... : "grunge" ? it's obvious more people were listening to "grunge" in the '90s, but I think "grunge" is still alive. A lot of people listen to these bands today. Some people who don't listen to it yet [because they are still children ;)] in the future will start to listen to these bands. People who have grown on this music - it's always nice to go back, so they still listen to it. isn't it ? ;) So "grunge" is not dead I think. ;) But you know some people listen to these "post-grunge" stuff and they think it's "grunge", but it's not and it's just makes "grunge" look awful. I'm starting to hate this word "grunge", because it's not name of a genre for me. Most of these bands are different types of rock. ;) You know what I mean.

Billy Corgan quote "People act like Nirvana invented grunge; they just took it and personified it." He must have wanted to be called grunge then. Don't you think?

I would would have never thought of Smashing Pumpkins as grunge again. Well most people on Last fm are IDIOTS.

I'd definitely say Nirvana's pretty grungy, and even later Soundgarden. Alice in Chains is like some mix of goth rock, doom metal and grunge in my opinion, and Audioslave sucks seven dicks a day.
