Impromeeting is a meeting place for the improvisation of sound artists from different artistic disciplines as a form of collaboration, experimentation and fun. Impromeeting accommodates musicians and non-musicians, narrators, poets, electronics, sound art, djing, turntablism or any other form of creating sound and noise from the point of view of experimental music. Organised by Mauri (producer, artist and dj). First edition was in 2010 and the second edition was on 10th of july 2011 in Gijón (Spain) with 4 artists from different musical styles (were first improvising in pairs, and ended up playing all together). The artists for Impromeetin’2011 were: Non Ergo (with a computer, synthesizer, and voice). vRED (electronic violoncelo, guitar, contrabass and some footswitch). Violeta Nureyev (bass and voice). Las Casi Casiotone (with 2 MacBook Pro, Midi controller, delay footswitch and microphone).

Took a while but these guys finally released their first full-length album. More Welsh pop-punk following the likes of Kids In Glass Houses, thoroughly enjoyed this. Features Sean Smith from The Blackout which always appeals too!

Didn't really wanna get into Ed Sheeran because of how popular he is (I don't hate popular music in general, just don't LOVE following the crowd), but couldn't really help it. You'd think that after releasing 243 E.P's like he has, his album would be good, and that's all it is. Quite depressing though if you're single.

Benefiz-Projekte wurden Mitte der 80er Jahre des letzten Jahrhunderts populär, hauptsächlich mit Mainstream-Schmachtfetzen wie "Do They Know It's Christmas?" (Band Aid) und "We Are The World" (USA For Africa). Aber auch im Metal-Bereich gab es damals ein Pendant namens Hear 'n Aid, ins Leben gerufen vom seligen Ronnie James Dio. Das Problem daran war für mich immer, dass es dabei um weit entfernte Gebiete ging und man nie so richtig mitbekam, wie viel von den Einnahmen wirklich bei den Bedürftigen ankam. Einen etwas anderen Weg geht da das Death und Grind-Projekt Noise gegen Armut, dessen Gigs praktisch direkt beim Empfänger der Erlöse, der Armenspeisung Rappelkiste e. V. stattfinden. Die Erlöse aus der Veranstaltung gehen in Form von Lebensmitteln direkt an den Verein, wodurch die wirklich Bedürftigen zumindest mit einer warmen Mahlzeit versorgt werden können.
Ebenso verhält es sich mit den Einnahmen aus dem Begleit-Sampler…
