Solarstone to projekt realizowany obecnie przez Brytyjczyka Richa Mowatta, choć początkowo formację tę tworzyli także Sam Tierney oraz Andy Bury. Pierwszy z nich opuścił grupę jeszcze w latach 90.tych, zaś Andy Bury zrobił to w 2007 roku, motywując swą decyzję zmianą muzycznych inspiracji. Nadal jednak, wspólnie z Richem Mowattem prowadzi wytwórnię płytową DeepBlue Records. Większość utworów, poza „The Calling” i „Day by Day”, z których znany jest projekt Solarstone powstał w duecie. „Seven Cities”, „Release”, „Solarcoaster”, „Speak in Sympathy” czy „Like a Waterfall” zdobyły uznanie tak fanów, jak i najpopularniejszych didżejów świata, trafiając na słynną serię kompilacji „In Search of Sunrise”. Warto wspomnieć także o udanej współpracy duetu ze Scottem Bondem, której efektem były wydane w latach 2003-2005, również bardzo popularne, „3rd Earth”, „Naked Angel”, Red Line Highway”. Spośród różnych aliasów Solarstone, na podkreślenie zasługują: Skyscraper, Z2 oraz Young Parisians. Mimo to, iż na początku roku grupę opuścił Andy Bury, przyszłość przed Solarstone rysuje się obiecująco. Rich Mowatt powrócił z nowym materiałem, wydając w maju debiutancki album. Kontynuuje również cykl własnych audycji radiowych, „Deepblue Radioshow”.

    Electronic Architecture 2 - the best compilation of the year. I don't believe that something could beat it. First time I listened to it at 5am with the rain out of my window, started with 2nd cd and it was REALLY atmospheric. This compilations shows the way "real compilations" should be. After it I completely understood that modern ASOTs or Pragues are just the mixtures of good tracks but not more... Richie, you are the GOD! [2].......So very true bro! Praque was actually very enjoyable, but this just made me appreciate how good of a mixer Richie is:)))

    @ Tron1c/Prostoy_paren: Solarstone/Solar Stone are both "correct" and there are artist pages for each here at last.fm (they should do like discogs and combine them) but this is the dominant one in terms of scrobbles and listeners. Yes he has only used the former now in the latest years, but the latter is the one that was used on most of the big classic tunes, thats why it gathers most scrobbles.... for me it'll always be Solar Stone

    а я-то думаю, что за бодяга и не видать Камушка Солнечного в топе моей библиотеки... а это оказца долбанное разделение откуда-то ни возьмись разрубило на Solar Stone и Solarstone блин. Глубоко пофиг как он себя сейчас называет, главное: а) музыка по прежнему потрясающая, б) чтоб был хоть какой-то единый стандарт [это камень в огород ЛастФМ]:))

    I just found out Rich; 2nd Element - Underwaterfall and SolarStone feat JES - Like a Waterfall are quite similar :) You made them both, so I guess you're allowed. Massive fan of the Chilled Out Euphoria album. That is such a piece of outstanding mixing and trackselection. All the best, and Merry Xmas even though you said you hated them :)
