Sam Cooke (ur. 22 stycznia 1931 Clarksdale, zm. 11 grudnia 1964 Los Angeles) - amerykański kompozytor i piosenkarz grający R&B i gospel. Uznawany za twórcę gatunku soul. Aktywność piosenkarza przypada na lata 1950 - 1964. Został zastrzelony w swoim pokoju hotelowym.

W 1986 Sam Cooke został wprowadzony do Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
