What can I say? I'm bored.

Rules: Put your playlist on shuffle and write down the first 25 songs you get...

Now take the first line from the first song, the second line from the second song, third line from the third song, etc. and put them in order below to make your scrambled song. If the song doesn't have enough lines loop back to the beginning--like if you need the 22nd line but the song only has 15 lines, you start counting again with the first line as line 16 and end up using line 7.

festak zahajil 'souboj' balkanske dechovky Boban i Marko Marković Orkestar vs nejaci rumuni. prvni jmenovani se mi docela libili, ackoliv tuhle hudbu moc neposloucham, ale melo to neco do sebe. rumuni byli takovi moc syrovi a jedine co me na nich zaujalo byl saxofonista, ktery to tam parkrat uzasne rozbalil, ten musel snad mit plice i misto zaludku, jinak si nedokazu vysvetlit jak to udychal.

po cca pul hodine, jsem se sebral a sel na Paramount Styles na new york city stage (ktera mimochodem vypadala naprosto skvele a byt takovy klub v brne, sedim tam furt). dorazil jsem akorat vcas na prvni song (race you till tomorrow). hrali zhruba stejne songu z prvniho jako z druheho alba a osobne se mi to teda libilo vic nez koncert loni v muzejce. ackoliv komornejsi songy jako paradise happens v tom narvanem sale tolik nevyznely, ale na druhou stranu treba desire nebo come to new york byly uzasne. …

Het was de keuze van mijn vader. Hij houdt van Ierse (folk)muziek, hoewel hij zelf Clannad volgens mij nog geen eens kende, hebben we toch kaartjes gekocht voor Moya Brennan, want Iers is Iers, dus vast wel goed. En het was wat ik had verwacht.

Goed gezongen, zuiver en onverstaanbaar, want in Gaelic. Dat maakt niet uit, je droomt wel weg op de klanken. De show zelf was heel ingetogen en Moya en haar muzikanten heel relaxed. Zelfs vrolijk. De veelal groene belichting gaf, samen met de mooie jurk van Moya, de show een goede Ierse sfeer.

Sinead Madden, de violiste zong ook nog een mooi lied van haar eigen cd. En stond overigens de hele show enorm te glimlachen. Misschien professioneel, misschien omdat ze het gewoon leuk vond om te spelen.

Cormac de Barra, de harpist, met wie Moya Brennan haar meest recente cd heeft opgenomen was erg goed en het beetje harp wat Moya zelf speelde leek daardoor op niets. Zo vaak zie je geen harp bij een concert, dus het was fijn om dit mee te maken. …

The end of another year, and another highly subjective look at what's happened for me in the musical world.

Albums of 2010

1) Electric Wizard - Black Masses

Obviously doesn’t reach the heights of Come My Fanatics... or Dopethrone, but still a fantastic album with all the typical dark paranoia and hatred of Electric Wizard. The added dimension of Liz Buckingham’s guitars are finally put to good use, and Jus Oborn has somehow found yet another vocal style, though I suppose it doesn’t stray too far from the one utilised in Witchcult Today

2) Cathedral - The Guessing Game

When the label said ‘Progressive Doom Metal’, I was expecting a sort of psychedelic return to the Forest of Equilibrium. Errr... No. What we in fact got was a merger of the Cathedral stoner metal style from the later albums, and 70s progressive and art rock. Complete with Hammond organ. Once you’ve got what they’re trying to do, it dawns upon you that it’s a truly fantastic album with some truly epic moments, especially the more retro bits. …
