Bettie Serveert are a Dutch indie-rock band. „Bettie Serveert” translates to „Bettie Serves” after the Dutch tennis player Bettie Stove, who lost the Wimbledon Ladies singles final in 1977. =( „Bettie Serveert” is actually a series of books on tennis techniques and such, by Bettie Stove, published in the late seventies/early eighties.

Comprising vocalist Carol Van Dijk (vocals), Peter Visser (guitar), Herman Bunskoeke (bass) and Berend Dubbe (drums) they originally formed in 1986 but split up after only one gig. They reformed in 1990 and released their debut album „Palomine” in 1992.

After releasing the full-length album „Dust Bunnies” and the Velvet Underground cover album „Venus In Furs”, drummer Berend Dubbe decided to leave because of musical disagreements. Various drummers took the place of Dubbe on the albums that followed (Private Suit, Log 22, Attagirl and Bare Stripped Naked).

Bettie Serveert continues to tour extensively through Western Europe, Canada and the United States.
