so this has a sort of a gradual build to a song that's one of my most favorites.
1. Paavoharju-vitivalkoinen: from finland. strange chords, guitars, swirly choral voices, swirly noises. all out beautiful.
2. Alaska In Winter-don't read dostoyevsky: (beirut/hawk and a hacksaw kids) piano based beautiful. also a bit of electronic swirly voices.
3. Thuja-untitled: piano based. weird noises. a bit droney, some of their music includes natural noises...crunching leaves, or birds... i can't get why this makes me feel all dramatic..but it makes little mini movies in my head when i listen to it.
4. Islaja-haikea, kirkas: also from finland...truly wonderful...a bit psychedelic at times, truly lovely.
5. Jack Rose-linden ave. stomp: guitar. what i wish i could do. but, sadly, cant.
6. Rio en Medio-girls on the run: one of my favorite new voices. the music & the voice makes for a near perfect song...
7. Tunng-a bit folkish, a bit experimental, a bit electronic. a lot wonderful.
8. Samara Lubelski-road to misfortune: discovered where while searching out psychedelic folk. so, this is the only song i know...reminds me a bit of old school belle & sebastian...and something else i can't quite place.
9. Hello Saferide-i thought you said summer is going to take the pain away: i seriously cannot get enough of hello saferide. really i must've listened to this record 30 times already. i like this song alot. good for feeling moody.
10. Faun Fables-old and light: i'm seeing faun fables on friday night in austin. i'm super excited. this is one of my favorites.
11. Black Keys-i cry alone: black keys are one of my favorite bands. i can be so frustrated with life and put one of their records on, and by the time it's over i feel a million times better. it's also fantastic camping music. this is one of the slow songs...
