    Anarchy?

Anarachy is silly. The thought/idea of anarchy deserves kudos, but actually living in an "anti-government" type of world will only create havoc, chaos and death.

Any person could just walk in your home and steal your dog.

    Why?

Because they could. No government = no laws; no rules.

As much as I would love to live in a world with no worries, it's nothing but a fantasy.

    Not really chaos

You've misunderstood the concept. I'm not really into it but I've got a friend who's an anarchist, and he says that if we would abolish all rules and laws people would create them once again, forming communities and such. This would create countries of the people, instead of tradition.

Personally I'd prefer some sort of republic or monarchy, or dictatorship even, if we could have a good one.

  • Maybe serious anarchy is chaos. But to live a healthy life i think you need to have some anarchy in your life.

I understand the fact that you should maybe "live on the edge" a little, but there is too much corruption in society for anarchy to truly exist. I think it could happen in maybe European countries, but not America. There is much too greed and selfishness in this country.

Actually, i'm pretty sure there are some communities in Italy that are influenced by anarchy.... could be rumor though.

laws aren't what keep societies in order, community standards are. you don't need some bureaucratic and corrupt governmental entity to enforce it.

greed and selfishness are the result of the moral system taught and upheld by capitalism, not "human nature".

  • Governmentalists make laws but they're still broken by individuals exhibiting socio-pathic behaviors. Any one that shows disregard for human life is exhibiting socio-pathic behavior. Most trained soldiers can't shoot to kill. What makes you think that without government, every one and there mother would somehow supress that instinctual empathy over night? BZZT, don't think so. Actually, all revolutions of anarchist character have been successful within the anarchism itself, the only way they've been brought down is by coercive force from some outside source backed by governmentalists. Epic Fail

  • i think that anarchy wouldnt be a very good idea at all. it's obviously better than what we have now, but it's not what i think would fix things. think...anarchy or.. AUTONOMY?!

    autonomy has such better ideals.
    and it could work.
    it HAS!
    not here, but still..

What?! If it wasn't a law to not speed, people would speed. It there wasn't a law saying you can't do drugs, little five year olds would be running around with crack stuffed up their nose. I realize that's a bit extreme, but I would hope you can fathom the idea. Community standards have nothing to do with personality and the way people act and why they act that way.

I agree. However, I DO think think anarchy is a wonderful thing, but most societies can't handle it. Nobody (mostly on the western hemisphere) is moral enough to actually take hold of the concept of what is anarchy. Autonomy sounds good though. =]

I exceed posted speed limits every time i get in my car; often in great excess. Lots of people do. I know my car and I know my ability and I couldn't give two shits about a little sign that disagrees with my assessment of a safe operating speed for my car under given conditions.

5 year olds on crack? You're just being silly. If a child doesn't have a parent to keep the crack out, no amount of laws can save that kid.

The "chaos" that you speak of is a product of our system, not symptomatic of human nature. The "anarchist" world you are describing is just what would happen if the cops stopped watching our current system.

  • stay the fuck away from my dog, hes an anarchist

straight edge? I'll drink to that!
  • Anarchy is not chaos. Actually maybe it's the most misunderstood political theory. I really can't stand the fact that so many people express their opinion about anarchism, without having read even one single page written from a theorist anarchist, bakounin, kropotkin or proudhon for exaple.
In fact it's not violence, not crime, not jungle... It's just a way of life and a political idea tottally humanistic where solidarity and togetherness dethrones power and state. Can it be possible? Ask yourself.
