How hard does "the used" suck?

the new album might be not that good if you compare it to the first one
but i still think they got some real good songs in there (listening, take it away, im a fake & sound effect and overdramastics)

...and so what if they're all mainstream and shit? if they have good music - they have good music, you don't have to care about if they're all mtv2 or all underground.

The live cover they did with "My Chemical Romance" of Under Pressure was pretty good, well I enjoyed it.

The Used Made a good first album the second album Sucks there is about 4 decent songs n 1 Good Song. Ive seen them live a couple of times maybe like 4 and they arent that great CAGuy is right The Used shouldnt be headline over Bands Like Underoath who are by far a better band live than The Used And Ive Also Seen Atreyu open for The Used which they shouldnt have because Atreyu is one of the best bands ive seen live idk about you guys but id much ratehr see Atreyu Play than the used.

very true. but most people on here are so naive of band's existing before they heard of them on the radio or mtv that they can't find any of their old stuff to be decent. people have no idea what bert or any of the guys in the used have been through and just assume they should act perfectly. they're only human like everyone else.

i love nearly every song of this band. i mean they got their own special style. it's not that shabby and conventional emo voice in the vocals and not that stupid punk rhythm... i just hate it because many bands just sound completely similar and there is nothing valuable in such kind of music =|

joined this a bit late but, fucking great band.

first album is one of my faves ever, i've never heard so much passion and angst packed into 12 songs in my life, so raw and genuine i adore it.

2nd album however..........

Its our time to shine, through the down. Glorified my what is ours.

i used to like them, n they are one of the bands that got me into the more heavy stuff...
i have only got their l8st album, used to love em, but not so fond of them...just got sick of their sound really fast, so yer...

They can't be that bad, if you know the lead singers name. Why don't you go back up your comments with constructive explanations?

For me; they're a standard band, use to be well into em', but my musical likes change every month, good band live, put on a show, creative, and got good song writing. Put to me, anyone who can play a show infront a good few people, play guitar, drums, sings etc is inspiring, as I have absolutely no musical talent at all. :(

not to mention the little girls in class who you cant escape talking about them.

and if you think they are musically talented, you really need to stop listening to whatever the mainstream media is shoving down your throats. dig a little deeper and you WILL find music with substance and much more musical talent.

dont rely on MTV for your music.

granted, i can already assume why some people think the used suck - the airtime they get, their popularity among "scene kids" etc.

here's how i see it; "in love and death" is not good at all, it does have a couple of really good songs, however - and the self-titled still is one of the srongest releases of 2003 to me

furthermore, their first album somehow changed my approach to music - after i got into that record, music started becoming an integral part of my life, and i started to get more interested in alternative rock of all kinds (emo, metalcore, postrock etc.) - in other words, the used are the main reason for me listening stuff like thrice, glassjaw, sigur rós, enter shikari, list goes on...

final verdict: the used do not suck
