Supernatural Cat was born at the end of the year 2005 from an idea of Malleus Rock Art Lab, one of the most original european poster artists of today.
After working for several years on handmade silkscreens for gigs and events (doing posters for bands such as Aphex Twin, Beck, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Blues Explosion, Brant Bjork, the Chemical Brothers, The Cure, Deftones, Dresden Dolls, Flaming Lips, Iggy Pop & the Stooges, Mars Volta, Melvins, Mogwai, Motorpsycho, Monster Magnet, Mark Lanegan, The Prodigy, Sigur Ros, Sonic Youth, Sunn0))), Turbonegro, Ufomammut and many more...), Malleus decided to put the same efforts, quality and attitude in the "record industry".
Supernatural Cat is interested mainly in finding out new and original bands, very inspired music, considering the record like an handicraft piece in a way of thinking totally opposed to the serial logic of today.
Our intention is to find music that is not closed in any genre, music has to be filled with the breath of originality, something special, something unique, something You can recognize as Supernatural Cat.
Every release comes out in a first limited edition run, with handmade silkscreened and numbered covers and deluxe packages.
Reprintings are "common" editions;-)
Supernatural Cat is a totally indipendent and "open source" project at its beginning.
In only one year Supernatural Cat has been proud to become the sonic home for great and cool bands such as Ufomammut, Morkobot, Lento and FarwestZombee.
More than this, the label has started a serie of "sessions" between the bands under the name of SUPERNATURALS.
The first record has been recorded at Locomotore recording studio by Matteo Spinazzè (lento, dalek, zu, ardecore, nobukazu takemura, mats gustaffson, original silence, xabier iriondo and many more...) beginning of March 2007, featuring Ufomammut and Lento.
