    Was anyone else majorly disappointed/amused by that article in the May 2008 issue? I for one was really surprised by how flat-out pretentious it seemed. First of all, the title--"The Meaning of Life"--emblazoned prominently across the page like a banner outside a church... Which I wouldn't necessarily mind if the article actually WAS about the meaning of life, which it really wasn't. Instead it was just Ben Gibbard talking about how weird it is being famous. Great, Ben... thanks for the insight -_-.

    Not to mention the photos of him gazing philosophically at the camera, shrouded in golden angelic light... I was literally cracking up.

    That being said, I do love Paste. Sometimes I just wish they'd be a bit more conscientious about these things, that's all.

  • mmm, i was seriously turned off by this article. it really bothered me. kind of made me see ben gibbard in a different light...a not-so-great light. and i know that i probably shouldn't let that influence my (sudden lack of) listening to death cab...but it has! can't help it. eeugh.

    i definitely wish my mailman had conveniently ripped the article out of the issue before delivering it to my doorstep (as i suspect he's done with a few of the sampler CD's in the past...eh).
