    Looks like some people are totally missing the point here. I suppose, under "british accent" we use to imply what we hear in various media, like films, TV shows, sports broadcasting etc. And the way all these people are talk is quite annoying for some folks, me included. Sorry, guys, no offense, but it's true. And this whole thing has nothing to do with how many accents you have in your country.

    Uhh... There's no such thing as a British accent... Unless you can't tell the difference between Irish, Scottish, Welsh and English. I presume you mean the English accent.... Maybe go buy a map or something? [3] Even then each county of those have their own accents aswell, like the people in my city don't sound like those who live in the next city near me (Bristol).

    British accents are so pathetic. Why can't they pronounce the letter 'r' ? Non-rhotic speakers with their ugly intrusive-R. I hate the sound of it. Irish, Scottish, and North American have a much better command of the English language, and historically so did the English. This loss of the letter 'r' is relatively recent.
