Group for Hetalia fans who like Hungary and Poland's (Erzsébet and Feliks's) friendship and want to see it in Himaruya's work.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_YJVO6jPaR0& - vid about Polish-Hungarian friendship in the real life
In the official Hetalia stuff Hungary and Poland are mentioned together once - in the informations about Prussia Himaruya wrote that "he has gone on a rampage in Hungary and Poland (...), so his relationships with these two are rather rocky". They also appear together, with Austria, on one of the Christmas doodles: http://img32.imageshack.us/img32/1350/santa3.jpg .
Comparing to their relationship in the real life it looks poorly.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pole,_Hungarian,_two_good_friends (with few changes):
Good relations between the two nations date back to the 14-15th century with Hungary and Poland being linked by personal union twice: in the years 1370-1384 (Louis I of Hungary) and 1440-1444 (Władysław III of Poland). In the 16th century Stephen Báthory of Poland came from a Hungarian noble family.
In the Hungarian Revolution of 1848 there was a notable Polish general Józef Bem who became a national hero both in Hungary and Poland.
In the Polish–Soviet War 1919-1921 Hungary offered to send 30,000 cavalry to Poland's aid, but the Czechoslovakian government refused to allow them through; some trains with weapon supplies from Hungary did, however, arrive in Poland.
The emotional link has not been broken even during extreme political conditions such as the period of the Second World War when Germany invaded Poland, while Hungary was a close political (and later military) ally of Adolf Hitler's Germany. Hungary said two loud "No!"s to Hitler's requests, first to attack Poland, and then to let the German soldiers use the Hungarian railway lines so that the Germans could attack from the south as well. Hungary received more than 100,000 Polish refugees after the German invasion and even established schools for Polish children. The Hungarian army also refused to take part in the crushing of the Warsaw Uprising by the German Army. Hungarians who took part in the Warsaw Uprising on the German side often gave fighting Poles their supplies - weapons, food and other usable things.
After the war, Poles played a big role in the Hungarian Revolution of 1956. After the revolution started the Polish people declared their total support for the fighting Hungarians. Up to November 12, 1956, 11,196 Poles gave their blood for the wounded Hungarians; hospitals in Poland had to open extra places to cope with the numbers. Statistics of the Polish Red Cross show that 44 tons of medical supplies were transported to Hungary by air transport (15 planes); help received from railroad and road transportation was much greater.
On March 12, 2007, Hungary's parliament declared March 23 as the Day of Hungarian-Polish Friendship, with 324 votes in favour, no votes against and no abstention.
On March 16, 2007, the Polish parliament by acclamation declared March 23 as the Day of Polish-Hungarian Friendship.
