  Never played STALKER. But - in my opinion, making Fallout FPP is a good idea. After all, it's easier to feel your character when seeing the world through his eyes. Anyways, the talking head type dialogues in F1/F2 (and the intro in F1) could indicate that Black Isle wanted Fallout to be FPP, but couldn't do it for technical reasons. Also, New Vegas was published by Bethesda, but developed by the crew that was working on Van Buren before Black Isle was closed. Many elements from that unfinished game (Caesar's Legion, for instance) found their way into NV. So keep that in mind next time ya'll complain about the new Fallout. As for F3, it's the least "fallout" of the series, it has a couple fails (Enclave troopers wearing power armor at 20% condition? Please), but it's still very playable overall. And some of the DLCs are friggin' awesome.

  Actually imho F3 and NV isn't bad, but seems like they're related to S.T.A.L.K.E.R. more than Fallout. I didn't expected 2D game in this times, but turning Fallout into FPP / TPP isn't good idea and reason disliking F3 by me. Isometric 3D with full camera would be better. But even excepting this if the series will continue I think it will be good, maybe not so superb, but good. Look at the Nev Vegas, it's big step forward and seems like Bethesda knows now what Fallout is about.
