Here's the song OdtwórzLangir skuggar [radio performance]

Recent radio performance with Menn Ársins. Unreleased track.

The mix is not so great but I really tried to save what I could in the mastering process.

Check it out and I hope you enjoy!

Gong Xi Fa Cai (恭禧發財) Happy New Year!

It was the Chinese Year of the Tiger the same day as Saint Valentine's. To commemorate the occasion, I have chosen Sa Dingding (萨顶顶) this week and her new single OdtwórzHa Ha Lili (天地记), from her album Harmony (天地合), due for UK release 8 March but available now on iTunes and streaming here in Last.fm. It has already gone double-platinum in mainland China just for pre-order.

First there is harmony between people and nature, and then everything can come alive.

The album explores balance: between East and West, the past and present, Heaven and Earth. Musically, it reaches from the roots of Chinese ethnic music to contemporary electronic sounds. All songs are in Chinese except for one, OdtwórzLucky Day, her first in English and an homage to Michael Jackson, recorded four months prior to his death.

Writing about the video on her website, Sa Dingding says:

This music video of a perfect explanation of Ha Ha Li Li. The inspiration of this song comes from an old legend from Wa people living in Yunnan province,(southwest of China). It’s a beautiful story talking about a golden rooster kicked off a big tree which connected the earth and the sky, and earth and the sky has been separated and everything came to alive.

So in this music video, I’m acting 4 kinds of spirits in the MV, spirits of tree, spirits of flower, spirits of mountain, spirits of the universe. It’s a very abstract idea talking about the creation of the world.

    Lyrics:

ha li li ha li etc.

    从那天起人们走出了山洞
    和山神和树神住在一起
    从那天起人们走出了山洞
    和大自然完美的在一起

I learnt of Sa Dingding two years ago when she was nominated for BBC Radio 3's World Music Awards, which sadly no longer run. Her debut album, Alive, was a quietly impressive piece of work and I was pleased she won in her category.

Harmony, the follow up to Alive, is upbeat and cheerful, leaning towards pop and dance. Sa Dingding says:

Harmony is an expression of my thoughts and my life from spring 2009. When I was recording my first album I realised there are too many things that bother people and I wanted them to find calm from my music. Now I realise actually only by finding a balance between humanity and nature can people get this calm. If people found calm from Alive, I hope they find joy and happiness from Harmony.

Be sure to listen to Paul Oakenfold's remix of Ha Ha Lili, which can be streamed on Sa Dingding's official site. I'll warn you, it's a tiny bit cheesy but I still enjoyed it.
OdtwórzHa Ha Li Li - Paul Oakenfold Remix

Sa Dingding herself is an artist to watch. Talented, focused and accomplished, she masters everything she starts. The rest of us may promise ourselves we'll learn a new language with each year's resolutions; at the age of 26, Sa Dingding has taught herself Sanskrit and the near-extinct Lagu language amongst others. Further, she has invented her own and written songs in it. She is a multi-instrumentalist, playing the zhen (a Chinese zither with 25 strings), Chinese drum, Chinese gong and horse-head fiddle (a bow-stringed instrumental with a scroll carved like a horse’s head). Alive wasn't her real debut, it was Dong Ba La eight years ago under the name Zhou Peng (周鹏) which won an award.

In performance, Sa Dingding's style is elegant, traditional and modern, and beautiful. Her aesthetic is sophisticated but edgy, both polished and trendy. Her love for culture, history and spirituality pervades everything she does, her enthusiasm breathing new life in the re-telling. It is for her inventiveness and creativity that she has been dubbed 'The Asian Björk'. For me, the difference is: Sa Dingding makes the old and challenging palatable, Björk takes the ordinary and makes it extraordinary. The magic and the effort is the same.

Will the Year of the Tiger be lucky for you? More precisely, it is the Chinese Year of the White Metal Tiger and the year of 4707. You might also see it described as the year of the Golden Tiger. White and gold are both colours of metal, gold is a symbol of prosperity, so this could be a lucky year for some. The year will end on 2nd February 2011 when it will become the Year of the Rabbit. You are a tiger if you were born in these years: 1902, 1914, 1926, 1938, 1950, 1962, 1974, 1986, and 1998.

  • Why does Lady Gaga suddenly own weird?

    4 II 2010, 1:12 przez artgeek707

This is a subject that has been driving me nuts. For some odd reason people feel compelled to compare any performer slightly out of the ordinary to mainstream fauxweird Lady GaGa. Ever since she came out in the media without pants people everywhere seem to accept her as the standard of "weird" or "quirky". She is neither. Her image is manufactured to attract attention and in turn sell more records. Every odd thing she does is a decisive decision. From her posturing claim that her desire to wear sun glasses makes her psychotic to her claim that wearing no pants is empowering. Her wardrobe is a huge ripoff of top fashion designers rather than her own original creations (she claims she makes her clothes)

This would all just be normal bullshit if people didn't actually take it to heart and make comparisons with actual quirky artists. Last week Karin Dreijer Andersson (aka Fever Ray) had a bizzare acceptance speech wearing a plasticine facial mask with melted features. People on the web immediately began comparing her with Lady Gaga and claiming she was imitating her. (forgetting the fact that at previous acceptance speeches Karin and her brother Olaf off The Knife went to acceptance speeches dressed in bulky overcoats wearing bird masks so they were indistinguishable as a form of protest at sexism in the music industry) I swear if Björk had made her entrance into music several decades late the Bjork/Gaga comparisons would be sickening.

How is someone who only sings about sex fame and money weird? Or how does ripping off major designers original. Or using monotonous overused beats quirky. Lady GaGa can only be considered weird in the extent she postures to be weird. How anyone can label her, much less her music, avant garde is disgusting.

I can be who you want me to be

The perfect song to begin the new decade with as we wipe the slate clean and make a fresh start.

Everyone will get something different from this. Me, I'm in denial. Never mind the new year and new resolutions, the first few weeks of January are all about cocooning, taking it easy and baby-stepping through the depths of winter.

Now isn't the time for resolutions anyway. They won't work. Wait till the end of the month. Maybe I'll do a reco journal nearer the time with a few tips that have helped me. This means, of course, we are all absolved from this responsibility for a few more weeks. See what good news I bring?

He preached the value of deception

Sometimes, denial and beautiful lies are most appropriate. Gurus will try to tell you different but don't listen to them, they've all got books to sell. Listen to your Aunty Babs. When we permit denial and beautiful lies, what we're really doing is giving ourselves time; time to think, to work out how we feel. Then when we're ready to face everything again, we will do so with renewed energy. So really, denial and beautiful lies are essential to good health and well-being.

    Sacred lies and telling tales

Tales are never just for fools

So I spit out lies that aimed to soothe

Today's song comes from Paloma Faith's debut album of the same name. I first noticed her via The Arctic Circle a couple of years ago and I've enjoyed watching the limelight find her since.

Paloma comes from a varied background, encompassing theatre, art and design as well as music. The way she brings it all together is original, if not slightly eccentric in a Björk-like kind of way. However, where Björk is all experimental drama, Paloma is more burlesque and blues, witty theatrics, cabaret and melodrama. Likeable and cute, she smiles and cries her songs in glamorous costumes of feathers and mirrors, immaculate make up and high heels. A cheeky British Dita Von Teese.

Paloma's debut album is upbeat and cheerful, poetic lyrics driving the music as much as her delivery. Her light touch means the album can be enjoyed played on repeat in the background whilst the depth of her stories encourage close listening.

Prophet took my hand on all soul's day
He preached the value of deception
Changing shadows by a shapeshifter's rules
Tales are never just for fools
The court of conscience came before me
Presented me with a heavenly angel
He took my hand and asked me, truth aside
    To his questions I replied
Do you want the truth or something beautiful?
Just close your eyes and make believe
Do you want the truth or something beautiful?
I am happy to deceive you

  • NEWS UPDATE - Germany, Lol Tolhurst, 1st album physical release PLUS future works...

    3 I 2010, 1:47 przez LuxuryStranger

He all, it's been a while... apologies.

Luxury Stranger recently played a successsful show at the Groovestation, Dresden, Germany. The band supported the fantastic Die Art who always play Groovestation as the last date after their long and gruelling tour. LS couldn't believe how well they went down at the sell-out show and feel that despite the basd weather had the time of their life and look forward to returning to Germany to play in the near future...

Luxury Stranger will be returning to play in Europe in March, this time at the P60 in Amstelveen, Holland. The band will be playing support to Levinhurst (featuring Lol Tolhurst - former drummer and founder member of the Cure as well as Michael Dempsey who played with Lol and Robert Smith on the 'Three Imaginery Boys' album). LS is very honoured to be sharing the stage with true icons of the post-punk and goth genres...

The first Luxury Stranger album 'Desolation' is now available as a physical release from the LS website www.luxurystranger.com and from the merch stand at Luxury Stranger shows. The band look to getting the album in some record stores some time this year...

Two tracks, 'Precious for evermore' and 'Completion' will also soon be available as a physical release. The two tracks which bridge the gap between 'Desolation' and the up and coming 2nd album 'Commitment and discipline' will be available as a limited edition double A-side 7" vinyl release only. This will be available from the website and LS shows... release is planned for Spring 2010

As mentioned above, the 2nd album now has a title. Luxury Stranger began recording (or rather re-recording) tracks for the album a couple of months ago - completing the basics of 8 tracks in just one day. The band hope to complete most of, if not all of, the remaining parts for the songs chosen for 'Commitment and discipline'. Simon York has already come up with primary designs for the album artwork which reflects the albums title and mood very closely... release is planned for Summer 2010

Speak soon and remember - Luxury Stranger IS watching you...

A new music video of VFSix live performance at TeleClub (Ekaterinbugh)

  • Bottom of the Barrel 15

    12 XII 2009, 5:48 przez artgeek707

Most people post their top 15 artists. Since I find it harder to rank bands I like I shall go the opposite route and rank my least favorite "acts" at the moment. Without further ado let's begin.

    15. Attack Attack!
The suffix core is now being attached to any "genre" or new scene that has found an interesting new way to suck. This band has managed to be the sole member of the crabcore (non)movement. They get the name from the power stances of their "musicians" who squat down low to the earth and headbang in unison. To be honest I haven't listened to a whole song through let alone an album. I figured I valued my sanity over the journalistic integrity of this journal. What puts them at the relatively low position of 15th is that they are actually funny to the viewer of one of their music videos, but only as long as the volume is on mute.

    14. T-Pain
The idiot who brought blatantly autotuned vocals into pretty much every American mainstream pop, R&B, or rap act since 2007. The resulting collective American headache alone merits his rank.

    13. Katy Perry
She was incredibly annoying in her heyday. Tasteless lyrics and terrible vocals matched with a self centered exterior only made this musician accessible to the vain teenagers. Hopefully her 15 minutes of fame are trickling into a silent but steady flow into the oblivion of sub par pop acts at the moment.

    12. The Jonas Brothers
These guys are pretty much harmless. They play for the tweens disney's marketed them to and therefore should have never attracted any attention outside suburban bedrooms. However many teenagers seem to have never left middle school and continued to nurture a soft spot for the Jo Bros dragging out their fandom into highschool and (in some cases) even college. This brought the trio fame and ignited a futile (but incredibly amusing) internet flame war between young girls with names like Stacey (I apologize to any Staceys offended by my use of the stereotype attached to your name) and metalheads. How enough Megadeth, Anthrax, and Mayhem fans ever came across this pop boyband to form a collective hatred is beyond me. However after the initial year or so it became annoying and left both sides drained with only the n00bs left to duke it out. For what remains of that fight, they are 12. However, the war might intensify again with the creation of the the youngest Jobros new band. Only time will tell.

    11. Soulja Boy
For the most part 2007 was a musical cesspool. Most notable was this 50cent wannabe who had to resort to a dance to sell his shitty music. Nothing else he ever created ever really caught on (the reason why he's so low) but for a good 6 months no one could escape his annoying drawl about being a lechersome version of superman who wanted nothing more than to squirt some of his spidey string up a young females back (or was that R Kelly?)

    10. Justin Beiber
This kid is a convincing argument for a law banning youtube accounts from anyone under 17. That was where this whiney 15 year old with the voice of a 5 year old girl (my apologies to 5 year old girls of the world) His mostly tween fans even managed to hype this kid enough that he got on national television. Luckily only 3 or so songs ever became popular.

    9. Slipknot
FINALLY! A band metalheads, pop addicts, indie yuppies, decrepit 60s hippies, electronica groovers etc. can all agree sucks. Take 9 men out of anger management class, give them masks instruments and a venue to "play" at and you have Slipknot. Their stage prescence has best been described by the drummer of Muse in the following video.

    8. Metro Station
Somewhere Billy Ray Cyrus is probably wondering where he went wrong with parenting. Seeing as 2 kids of his are on the list (one in this band and the other soon to come) his pondering would be with reason. An annoying mix of hot topic dressed 20 somethings mix bad rap with dance music and overly sexual lyrics. I sense the leader singer is trying to deny his southern country roots. However, I wish his efforts didn't subject themselves on everyone else with a radio.

    7. Basshunter
Annoying simplistic lyrics sung in broken English is never fun to listen to.

    6. Britney Spears
The fact that her career never seems to die seems to be proof of the existence of Satan. Only a soul could pay to keep reviving that ragged and tattered thing. I have the feeling it was paid for in full by Chris Crocker (artist tag because he does in fact sing, unfortunatly) How someone could survive solely on a stream of 24 hour marriages, child support from K-Fed, and songs not written by her is a dilemma unless one takes her army of fans who since they saw her selling Pepsi (and a little more) in the 90s decided to become her fans.

    5. Jeffree Star
It seems all the terrible "musicians" of the aughties have come from myspace. Jeffree is no exception. He creates a creepy mishmash of sugarfloss and murder weapons in his "music" that pedobear would probably approve of. Combine that with autotune and you have a fanbase. He also happens to be an unattractive drag queen and looks like he fell into a vat of pink and orange sharpie ink. His songs range from such enlightening topics of "Cupcakes Taste Like Violence" to "Louis Vuitton Bodybags." His music leaves a bad aftertase to any seasoned listener.

    4. Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana/Destiny Hope Cyrus/ whatever her name becomes next year
I wonder what family reunions are like at the Cyrus house. Between this annoying self centered brat and her emberassing older brother. She is worse than her Disney contemporaries for the fact that she not only proliferates terrible pop music, but she also has an attitude. Whether she's attacking prominent musicians for not wanting to babysit her at the Grammys, posting racy pictures of herself online, or bitching out her fellow Disney stars, she manages to find new and even more tiresome ways of being a pain in the ass for her family and Disney, not to mention a constant annoyance as the media eats up her exploits. She's either going to grow up and go away or follow Lindsey Lohans example, before leaving us in peace.

    3. Kid Rock
Unlike with Coldplay Kid Rock cheats in the music department and gets away with it. With a narcissism enough to put off Echo from pursuing him (anyone who gets that reference without looking it up gets a gold star) His continued success proves that the trailer park demographic is still buying cds.

    2. Lady GaGa
Vain, annoying, posturing, airheaded are only a few of many adjectives that come up to describe this Madonnawannabe. Her fans proclaim her to be interesting and innovative with good mainstream pop music. How they can attribute those claims to her while she takes other artists ideas and pairs them with stupid monotonous music defies explanation. She actually posses some musical talent but does not employ it in her music as it would probably lose her her fans. She's a sell out plain and simple, and a lot of America is too blinded by her gaudy and unappealing metallic mirror bras to realize it.

    1. Brokencyde
Do I even need to explain this? They combine shitty oversexed rap with screamo, auto-tune, and a blender and call it music. One of their members doesn't play and instrument. He just operates the smog machine and presses the on button for the strobe lights. No kidding. Posturising abounds in their music and tours. They are tacky, annoying, and unintelligent. They and all of "crunkcore" are all symbols for the lax standards the american public holds the music they listen to.

so from all these awful performers we have learned that when choosing music:
    AVOID AUTO-TUNE AT ALL COSTS
    avoid Disney produced living merch.
Stealing riffs, outfits etc. is the touch of a sub par "musician"
Avoid offspring of Billy Ray Cyrus (my achey breakey heart bleeds for that poor man)
Myspace is not a good source of music
    *insertwordofchoice*core bands suck

hope this journal was pleasing to more than it was enraging to others
  • Björk's top 100 songs - Happy Birthday Björk!

    21 XI 2009, 3:41 przez Constellation66

    It's Bjork's Birthday! Party Time!

Over the course of my life, there’s been only a few artists that really have affected me personally with their powerful and timeless music. I generally enjoy diverse music, including the likes of Radiohead, Queens of the Stone Age, Muse, Klaxons, Goldfrapp, Coldplay, Metallica, Arcade Fire, múm, Kings of Leon and even a few of The Beatles songs. But of all the music I’ve listened to, Björk has been the most influential on my life.

Before I had ever listened to Björk’s music, I thought she was just another strange female artist you occasionally hear in the media with her wacky outfits. But then one day I heard Hyperballad and that amazing music video that went with it, and I was hooked ever since. I then took the plunge, taking a risk on an unfamiliar artist, listening to more and more of her music and getting more and more hooked with each song. I then discovered that not only is she an ageless beauty, and so unique in personality (I'm not talking unique because she wears different clothes), her entire life is consumed by music and melody's. And I’ve been consumed by her music ever since!

As Bjork celebrates her birthday today, I thought it’d be appropriate to list her top 100 songs of her glorious career thus far. Happy Birthday Bjork! and here's hoping to another 20 years of musical excellence. I made comments on the top 35. Of course this list is just my personal opinion, and some people rank songs more than others, but nonetheless:

    39. Oceania
    38. Innocence
    37. Odtwórz5 Years
    36. Heirloom

    And now the top 35:

    35. Mother Heroic
This is a track that hides on Bjork's back-cupboard. It's not her most well known song but it features beautiful xelophone type sounds with a heartfelt Bjork song.

    34. Human Behaviour
I prefer the music video version myself, but this song, one of he earliest, is a strange song about human behavior. It draws you in.

    33. OdtwórzArmy of Me
"If you complain once more...you'll meet an army of me!"

    32. Earth Intruders
A pounding and up-beat song that was the highest chart topper of her most recent album. Sort of a fun jungle type atmosphere as Bjork sings about Earth intruders.

    31. OdtwórzUndo
A very soft but enchanting song .."It's not meant to be a struggle uphill". Indeed it's not.

    30. OdtwórzIsobel
This song is a story in itself. A very good song.

    29. OdtwórzHidden Place
Not my personal fave, but everywhere you go, Bjork fans will say they love it. Her entire Vespertine album is truly a treat to the ears (Vespertine was voted in the best albums of the decade.) This song features a rich tapestry of sounds making you believe that there truly is a hidden place that no one else knows of.

    28. New World
From her Dancer in the Dark soundtrack, it's slightly similar to Play Dead. Bjork uses her voice very well in this one.

    27. OdtwórzCrying
An unlikely choice for some. It's from her first album Debut but it's so sweet and sad this one. "Crying cause I...need you"

    26. OdtwórzIt's Not Up To You
A great song that many other artists would be proud to have, but it's sits in the backshelf due to the brilliance of some of her other music.

    25. The Modern Things
A sweet song, similar to Domestica in that she sings about something other than love, sex etc.. In this song, she sings about cars living in mountains waiting to come out and "take over" in a very tongue in cheek song. She then uses her beautiful voice for the chorus along with some icelandic that makes it a wonder of a song.

    24. OdtwórzAll Neon Like
A pounding repetitive beat is the main driving force in this song. It's very addictive and stays with you.

    23. OdtwórzPossibly Maybe
This song is slightly similar to All Neon Like in that a beat type thing drives the song. Bjork says this was the first song she sang that was "without hope". The lyrics ring so true with a lot of people.

    22. Domestica
This is an relatively unknown b-side, but easily one of her best efforts. What makes this one stick out is the care free manner lyric-wise and the fun nature like music, that goes with it. She sings about losing her keys and getting a key that whistles to her when he grows up. It's all rather dreamy and fun.

    21. OdtwórzBig Time Sensuality
Putting aside that god awful music video version, this is a quirky and fun song that although scares a few people off, is a fun and great pop song. If you can call it pop?

    20. Play Dead
A riveting song that captures heartbreak and sorrow but at the same time is strangely up-lifting as Bjork draws you in.

    19. Generous Palmstroke
A more heartfelt song. You feel like you're intruding into her thoughts with this one so it feels slightly uncomfortable. Great use of strings and all manner of instruments.

    18. OdtwórzStorm
Off her Drawing Restraint 9 soundtrack, this is probably one of the most terrifying and haunting songs you’ll hear. I think this sums it up: "Björk's lone vocal soars in the chorus like the booming siren of a blue whale who suddenly realized she was the last of her species." Easily the best off her Drawing Restraint 9 soundtrack but at the same time not a song you'd have on repeat. An amazing listening experience.

    17.I Remember You
An unlikely choice, seeming as it is a Bjork cover. But this is a slow moving, touching love song that hits a nerve and could almost bring a tear to your eye. “When my life is through, and the angels ask me to recall, the thrill of them all, I shall tell them… I remember you.”

    16. Wanderlust
Off her most recent album, which people wither loved or hated depending on who you asked, this is definitely one of her best efforts off it by far. Heavy Beats with some electronic sounds combined with Bjork’s great vocals works well . This whole song sounds uniquely Bjork.

    15. I Miss You
A slightly more hip-hop type song, which you'd never think Bjork would do, but Bjork pulls it off again, such is her brilliant talent, with a catchy tune, catchy beat, and odd lyrics. “I miss you, but I haven’t met you yet.” A song that I could listen to for hours.

    14.OdtwórzIt's in Our Hands
“It’s in our hands, it always was”. Great track. Not sure what else to say?

    13. OdtwórzHunter
A brilliant use of hard drumming beats makes this song completely, and is a slight change from her other music in tempo. “I thought that I could organise freedom, how Scandinavian of me.” Most people would know this song from her music video (which is great), but this song is one of her best.

    12. Venus As A Boy
With a quirky xylophone beat and lush strings, mixed with Bjork’s playful lyrics this song is one of her most catchiest and upbeat songs which was off her Debut album.

    11. OdtwórzHarm Of Will
A soft and touching song, which straight away pulls you in and never lets go as the song is so powerful. It relies on Bjork’s magnificent vocals and a nice choir in the background adding to the whole atmosphere. First 30 seconds of this song is out of this world.

    10. OdtwórzPagan Poetry
A sort of Japanese sounding song with it’s intro and parts throughout the song, but mixes with some great electronic beats to make a elegant and beautiful song. “On the surface, simplicity. But the darkest part of me is Pagan Poetry."

    9. Desired Constellation
A song that you usually listen to alone, at night, or star-gazing. A moving melody background sound that was apparently made from voice loops making a bell type sound which suits the mood perfectly. It can’t be repeated, which makes this a great song along with fantastic lyrics. One of the best songs from her Medulla album. “With a palm full of stars - I throw them like dice, repeatedly…until the desired constellation appears...”

    8. OdtwórzBachelorette
A raw, powerful song featuring violins and pounding beats mixed with Bjork’s soaring vocals is a true treat to the ears.

    7. Who Is It
A song that is beat-boxed (I didn’t even know the beats in this song were non-computer until I re-listened to it) entirely with no instruments sounds bad right? Wrong. A great song, and great lyrics. Possibly one of the strangest and cute music videos ever made which accompanies this song, which shows Bjork in a bell suit (yes you heard right) dancing with bell kids.

    6. OdtwórzAurora
“Goddess sparkle.” A heartfelt song that showcases Bjork’s sweet vocals but also has great help from a fantastic choir which elevates this song to a new level, and combined with Bjork is match made in heaven.

    5. OdtwórzUnison
Such a powerful song. An AMAZING use of Bjork’s vocals, as the song builds to it’s amazing climax along with the help of a beautiful choir (which Bjork used a lot on Vespertine).

    4. OdtwórzAll Is Full of Love
The top 5 are very, very hard. This song is purely amazing and touching at the same time, with it’s electronic melody and use of instruments combined with great lyrics makes it an elegant yet beautiful song as it simply stands above all other music. Music video should be checked out also.

    3. OdtwórzUnravel
A song that has to be heard to be believed. “My heart comes undone, slowly unravels, in a ball of yarn”.Thom Yorke says it’s the most beautiful song he’s ever heard, and I’m not one to disagree! Strange sounding organs works brilliantly, the song is just another Bjork classic that is about as close top art as music will get.

    2. Hyperballad
A strong but twisted song about love that’s not easily explained. It’s about waking up early in the morning, being destructive, throwing small things off a mountain, and imagining what her body would feel like slamming against rocks at the bottom of the cliff, asking “And when I land will my eyes be closed or open?”, and then finally returning to her lover's arms in the morning as if nothing’s happened.

    1. OdtwórzJóga
Perhaps the most beautiful song I’ve ever heard. It’s a gorgeous song which not only showcases Bjork’s vocals but just how good music can be in Bjork’s hands. Putting it simply: A masterpiece. A song that will stay with me forever.

Note: I didn't use any The Sugarcubes songs. I highly recommend Birthday if you want to hear Bjork's vocals soar to unimaginable heights.

-Bjork performing Oceania at the 2004 Olympics.

So there you have it. My opinion on her best 100 songs from an amazing artist. Feel free to agree or disagree with me, or even add your own list of your favourite Bjork songs or which songs you like or dislike. I also await the Comet Song with great interest, but we'll have to wait until August next year for that.
