    fucking shit

this is annoying spent all afternoon reinstalling, uninstalling trying different things

now i dont scrobble anything, but songs show up in the 'now playing' field but dont get added to the list on my profile... they just disapear after the song is done... lol

  • This has been fixed in the official version for some time now. Just do Tools > Get Plugin and make sure you have the latest version of the Winamp plugin.

This helped me, go into your registry and find:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Audioscrobbler\Winamp Plugin

    Set:
    forcecache = 0

    (mines was 1),

    restart WinAMP and it works.

I tried to reinstall the plugin, reenter my login/pass, still the same ...

    Any ideas ?

winamp 2.91 is pretty old...may be contributing.

    Patched audioscrobbler

I get this in the log files. It used to work and 1.1.1.7 works somewhat until it causes an exception.

I realize this is due to my own stupidity but I had not noticed that the separate plugin downloads on the webpage are ancient and that the last.fm player install in fact also installs a current Winamp plugin.

My problem was that after Winamp ~5.5 mp3s scrobbled but oggs/flacs did not. Now at least ogg scrobbling seems to work.

Maybe some people with this problem have made the same mistake as I.

  • Version of Winamp Plugin

In my opinion, the problem is the version o Winamp Plugin. After the upgrade, the scrobbling stopped. I use 2.91 winamp version and it was working. So, I'm having the same problem.

Thanks! Works like a charm on my pc.. The original scrobbler found on the last.fm plugin downloads page appears to be ancient (20050831)! Don't want to clutter my pc with unwanted software like the last.fm player, so this did the trick! (WinAmp v5.52)

A bit sad the standalone plugin isn't updated..

  • My winamp 5.5 stopped scrobbling a few days ago, don´t know why...

  • I can't for the life of me get this to scrobble anymore, and nothing is working on my side.

I've just installed the latest Winammp Pro (v5.53.1924), and also have been having loads of annoying problems with the recent versions lately: not scrobbling properly, config box disappearing etc.

Just to clarify, this is to help people using Winamp v5.5x using DoctorO's standalone dll. This has nothing to do with the older official Audioscrobbler plugins (audioscrobbler.wa.1.1.10/.11) or the official client relient WinampPluginSetup_2.0.46.0/47.0 (which need the Last.FM client installed to work)

Here's what I did to fix:

-Install the latest version of Winamp (http://download.nullsoft.com/winamp/client/winamp553_full_emusic-7plus_en-us.exe). I'd recommend not installing any of the garbage that comes bundled with it. Here's the direct link for the Pro version also http://download.nullsoft.com/winamp/client/winamp553_pro_all.exe

    - Remove any existing versions of Audioscrobbler Plugin for Winamp via the Preferences > Plugins > Uninstall selected Plugin within Winamp. Check both General Purpose and Media Library plugins, remove any Audioscrobbler plugins. Allow it to restart. Close Winamp.

-Do not start Winamp. Go to your Winamp plugins folder (typically C:\Program Files\Winamp\Plugins ) and delete any remaining files related to Audioscrobbler (Do search for *srobble* and delete all (if any) of those files.

-Start > Run "regedit" (without quotes). Then browse to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ and totally delete the subfolder named Audioscrobbler (thereby deleting all contained keys etc)

-Download DoctorO's dll: http://nunzioweb.com/daz/AudioScrobbler/5_5/gen_audioscrobbler.dll and copy it to your Winamp plugins folder (typically C:\Program Files\Winamp\Plugins )

-Start Winamp as normal, the Audioscrobbler Config box should pop up automatically. If not, in Winamp go to Preferences > Plugins > General Purpose > Audioscrobbler for Winamp... > Configure selected plugin. Enter your info, save, and that should be it. It's scrobbling fine for me as we speak :)

Ok that's it, big thanks go to DoctorO for his hard work on the .dll.

official plugin dosent work, but Doc.O's plugin works great!

  • Brilliant DoctorO.

I've always opposed the last.fm client. I don't want yet another piece of software sitting in my taskbar so have always used the old audioscrobbler plugin. That is until it stopped working recently.
Your dll has fixed everything :)

  • Doctor0 plugin works!

I can't install the full last.fm client at work - and the audioscrobbler plugin wasn't working properly :(

Stuck Doctor0's in the plugin folder and it works like a treat! Many many thanks!

Oh my god thank you! I had the exact same problem, albeit on a completely different platform (Winamp 5.32, the OLD Audioscrobbler (1.1.11p4) because the new client didn't work) and I hadn't scrobbled for a month.

Now after setting HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Audioscrobbler/Winamp Plugin/forcecache=0, I've finally submitted the 1,100 songs that have been queued up :)

    Cheers!

Last.fm team: How on earth is forcecache set to true if it breaks so many things?

Edit: Last.fm team: How can users download the older version of the scrobbler now? It redirects to build.last.fm and for the life of me I can't find it anywhere.
