Why do some tracks sometimes not scrobble? (iPod)

  • Why do some tracks sometimes not scrobble? (iPod)

I'm having a new issue with Last.fm. Now sometimes when I plug in my iPod for synching it won't scrobble some tracks. For example I listened to a song over 4 times since the last time I synched (I noticed because my plays for the song on iTunes jumped by that much) but then a few moments later when the scrobbler popped up to ask if I wanted to submit those plays, that song and a few others weren't even on the list. I'm a perfectionist so I found this to be a bit annoying. Anyone else have a similar issue?

Make sure those tracks are in both your iTunes library on the PC as well as your iPod, and that no folders are selected as not scrobbable in the client. Go to Tools > Options > Scrobbling and make sure no folders are checked.

  • Lol I just checked that and all of those folders were checked, so I undid them. Will that clear up my problem hopefully? Right before I did that I synched my iPhone and I easily listened to over 50 songs since the last time I synched and it only found 7 scrobbles. Ugh, I do not want that to happen anymore.

  • Uhh that didn't work, now songs from my computer won't even scrobble.

  • I'm having the same problem, sometimes it will recognize every single scrobble, other times it won't recognize any. There's as much as a 10 listen difference between some of my songs on iTunes and on Last.fm

Do you get the same problem using the new beta client software?

  • I tried using the new beta, but now it doesn't scrobble from my iPod at all.

Anyone having problems scrobbling an iPod/iPhone using the beta in Windows (PC) should rename the folder:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Last.fm\spldrivers

    to

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Last.fm\sqldrivers

  • Done that, still no scrobbles.

You can add them manually via the Universal Scrobbler.

I'm sorry, I listened to the album 8 times for a total of like 100 tracks that i want scrobbled/reflected on my charts. entering that information manually is too tedious. the itunes script available at universal scrobbler does not seem to be working. These songs are in my "recently played list" in itunes as are about 100 other tracks that scrobbled just fine but for some reason the ones from this album did not.

    its about time...
  • Listened to like 500 tracks over the last few days, only four of them scrobbled. RAGE.
