    Ipod not scrobbling all songs

As of late, when I plug in my ipod to sync, it won't detect most of the tracks that I listened to since the last sync. For example, since I last plugged it in 5 or so days ago, I listened to several full albums, but only tracks for about 3 of them are showing up. Any ideas why it isn't picking up on all of the music played?

  • I get the same problem. Only some of my songs scrobble.

Yeah, ever since I updated my iOS to 5 it seems like it's not scrobbling any tracks. I don't think it's on last.fm's end though.. my track list isn't updating in my iTunes library either. It seems like there is a sync issue within iTunes..

  • Same here, only picking up a dozen songs tops when on average I play between 80-120 a week on my iPod. I also upgraded mine from iOS v4 to v5 with the latest ITunes also. Am running Win7 64x Ultimate. Would like to know what is going on and how to fix?

Having the same issue here, no change in software (iTunes or last.fm client) or hardware (still the same old iPod Classic). This only started happening a week or two ago.

Tried reinstalling last.fm, upgrading iTunes, reinstalling the plugin, nothing worked.

  • Quick update to my last post, my scrobbles from the past week have all been successful. There is no sign however of the scrobbles for the week before last though, so not sure if I will see these come back given there is supposedly to be a two week time limit...however from experience long lost tracks do appear at a later date. I guess will just have to wait and see.

  • got the same problem!! and it sucks..
    need help ASAP..

I'm having the same problem. Nothing will scrobble for me now since updating. But sometimes it might scrobble the odd song.

    Same problem.
Only the songs played directly from ITunes are scrobbled, the ones played with my Ipod Classic (latest generation) doesnt count in this website although ITunes recognized the ones i heard an add them into the Counts Column

I found the culprit to my problem, but I don't know if it could be the same one for you. After I'd been watching really closely for weeks, I noticed that the songs that didn't show up when Last.fm scrobbled are the ones that have over 1,000 play count, while all other songs are fine. So I reset their play counts, and played them on my iPod, and when I plugged it in again, I found my problem solved.

Maybe you should try resetting the play count?

  • Mac OS X 10.5.8
    iPod Classic 160 Gig
    iTunes 10
    Scrobbler 1.5.4.28012

I used to have this problem before this summer. During the iTunes update scrobbling didn't work at all, and subsequently there was a quick fix for that, downloading the audioscrobbler.bundle, and this fixed it. After that, I didn't have any problems until today, when I lost at least two albums, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.

I'm not sure if by somehow replacing the audioscrobbler.bundle file I could fix it now, but last time that was what worked. (Actually it was not intended for that, it was intended to fix the iTunes update to 64 bit, but somehow since then I didn't have that "partial scrobbling" problem either. Even though in August I upgraded to the new Scrobbler, and now everything's 64 bit here.)

  • I don't have any songs above 100, let alone 1000, so that couldn't be the problem.

  • I have a rule now. It seems that it doesn't scrobble any new songs from the iPod. If it's not in the library, it won't scrobble. It can only scrobble new songs if I first scrobbled it from the iTunes.

Will keep you posted if this really is the case.

  • Theory scrapped. Two new songs scrobbled without problem.

OR maybe the problem is gone (hopefully at least for another 5 months).

  • Again it didn't scrobble something which was totally new. (New artist, new song.) I don't like it the least bit. Somebody told me iPod scrobbling has been a problem for at least three years or so. Why don't they have a solution? Why?
