Michael Jackson tags

  • Causing offence is not reason enough to censor something. If it's ok for a comedian to say it and for people to make jokes about it in real life, it's fine on this site. And if you think that's offensive you must live a pretty sheltered life.

  • I still cannot see what that tag has to do with music...

...and worse, why tag something totally non-music related on a MUSIC site, if not with intent to offend?

... because you're interested in seeing what kind of music child molesters do or listen to?

Either way, MJ was never found guilty of anything on these charges...

  • rich people have never gotten away with anything okay!

  • The rules of democracy and free speech don't apply to Michael anyway, as is evident by his title: King of Pop.

P.S: True that about Lebron. Both he and Kobe are phenomenal players obviously but throughout his career Kobe was way more fortunate regarding teammates/coaches etc.

sometimes, i just really want to listen to music by child molesters (to tap into their psyche and get a better understanding of why they do what they do, let me tell you, billie jean has given me a lot of insight) and it's nice to have them grouped together for easy research purposes. jesus fucking christ, is it that hard to understand?

  • Heh, Shaq has a big ego, it remains to be seen if he can back his words up. Either way, he always gives a good show... I have nothing but love for him actually, except when he's rapping (or acting)!

    SHAZAAM IS A MODERN CLASSIC.

but i have a soft spot in my heart for his icy hot commercials, too.

  • I don't see how Shaq is good for the Cavs. Seems to me that a hulking 300-pound giant standing in the lane is not the way to set up LeBron's game. But who knows, maybe they'll make it work.

the only advantage i see is when the cavs play the magic, maybe shaq can keep dwight howard off the boards.

cavs have needed a legitimate center for awhile now. they've (finally) started surrounding james with other dudes who can score*, but i think the lack of a strong low post presence has been their crux.

    * i remember the playoffs three years ago when lebron had to do everything by himself. it was fucking amazing.... but man, they had nothing but scrubs back then.

  • A reminder that you are on an official support forum.

All off-topic babbling will be taken somewhere else, but it will cease immediately here.

I think a better way to counter tags you don't like (as opposed to whining about it on the support forums) is to tag artists with "appropriate" tags.

    Everybody wins.

I cant find "child molester" tag on MJ's tag page. But when you search for artists that are tagged "child molester" I can find michael jackson AND Tiesto, Paris Hilton, 50 cent!

The tag should be removed from all artist because its non-music related as Funkafonik said.

  • There are plenty of other non musical tags too; should we remove them all, or are people just pissy because it's Michael Jackson?

Just because no one was aware of an issue, doesn't make it a non-issue, either before or now after it's been discovered.

But it's not an issue. How do these tags affect your Last.fm experience in any way?

Because for the normal, average (nice) user, it's surprising to find it here.

this is the internet. i'm not surprised by anything i find on it... disturbed by some of it, sure, on occasion, but the neat thing is that i don't have to look at anything i don't want to.

Happy for you, but not everyone is as savvy. Also, maybe it's acceptable on niche sites no one knows or cares about, but not on sites the size of this with global reach. It reflects badly because ultimately, Last.fm are responsible for content, even though we generated it.

  • I say normal average nice folk are the lame gazelle of the internet. You need to grow some skin or you won't survive very long around here.
