Maybe I'm just brain dead but how do I ff within a track?

I'm using Songbird which appears to load lastfm in a Gecko container. I can't seem to move to an arbitrary point in a song - it seems I have to listen to the whole song from start to finish. I can forward to the next track but not move within a track. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?

Songbird/Gecko/container ?? I've not a clue what you're talking about... but I know on the ordinary lastfm browser page you can pause a track but can't ff.

You're not doing anything wrong. You can't fast-forward/rewind/jump arbitrarily around tracks on last.fm.
