that statement is appalling. this festival had issues long before things went into meltdown at lt lonsdale. the fucking nerve, honestly.

First time I attended Laneway. Alarm bells were ringing when I waited 30 mins to get into the festival entering at 12:35pm and heard Tame Impala hadn't been allowed to start on time doing only a handful of songs. Partially saw the first two acts on the Red Bull stage and realised I wouldn't be getting back in with the one in one out policy. Fortunately I had seen most of the good headliners before and was able to immediately re-strategise. Caught nine bands: Tame Impala, Richard Campell DJ, Canyons DJ, No Age, Cut Off Your Hands, The Temper Trap, Tim Fite, Buraka Som Sistema and Mountains In The Sky. Yesterday should of been an indie classic. Instead a rather farcical day occurred with the queuing. Just glad I was well away from the Girl Talk nonsense though it was so obvious that was going to occur when I was there for Cut Off Your Hands. People, if you are really upset start writing letters to organisers and sponsors.

I cannot believe the organisers statement, they had an opportunity to deflect at least some ill will by offering an apology and some semblance of an explanation - how about some sweetner to encourage people to come back next year? Instead we get a statement saying that it was somehow all our fault - brilliant! I'm not stupid enough to expect a full refund but it's the principle of the thing dammit...

what's really funny is that just about everyone i spoke to who was working the whole laneway festival circuit said the festival was an abortion. they were getting fucked over with sound restrictions and the level of unprofessionalism from organisers was hilarious...simply biting off more then they could chew :P

I saw some of the people I wanted to, but yeah it was worse than last year organisation wise. They sell wayyyy too many tickets and dont seem to divide bands onto stages based on popularity. Had to wait hours to get into the lounge... the way the lines worked was just stupid, you would walk out and then realise you had to go miles away to get back in. I might go again if there's a chance I can get in to see bands I want to see and the timetable doesnt clash like it did this year.

Please tell me yesterday was a bad dream and that I didn't pay $100 to queue up all day and not see ANY SINGLE ONE of the bands that I wanted...unbelievable!! You can bet I'll be asking for my money back...

some great music, but yeah, overagressive security & crowd control meant ridiculous lineups for anything on the redbull & lounge stages

ergh. was hoping they'd improve it from last year but it got worse! too many people, shit sound at every stage, and ridiculous queue's just to get to stages!

Ughhh! Great bands, terrible organization. I reckon they must have sold too many tickets. Red Bull Stage and the Lounge were completely unaccessible (reached capacity at ..um.. 2pm?), later on I had to leave little lonsdale for a piss and couldn't get back in thanks to the queue stretching down the block! Poor me :( Another festival that's too big for its socks.
