Immediately after the show, I thought it was so-so because A. I was really sick and B. I was surrounded by a bunch of obnoxious people I didn't know and had a dead phone.
Prior to FYF, every LA show I attended was an absolute blast. A band with a small turnout in Phoenix would have a sold out super enthused crowd in LA. Maybe it's because most of those bands were of the punk variety and I have yet to see an indie band in LA, but the FYF crowd felt like indie Warped Tour, complete with lots of folks that just wanted to be seen. Yes, I realize I'm making a judgment, but when my shorts, tank top, and large, plain purse and desire to actually sing and dance along make me stand out, I have an issue. It's a freakin' music festival, since when is it a crime to wear practical clothing and get into the music?
Although I must say seeing the Kreashawn doppelganger's absolute look of horror when Kid Dynamite took the stage made my night.
