    There are positive reviews. See some links on http://www.yanntiersen.com/forum_en/viewtopic.php?t=1024. Many people hated it, but also many people loved it. That makes me sure, even more, that his talent is outstanding.

    i still disagree with all of the negative reviews. they were 'tight' as a band and i heard plenty of familiar material. i'm very sorry that it seems i can't find a single positive review of the show.

    "On Tour" is exceptionally good is very different from what he did. I would kill myself if I had to play the same tunes for 10 years. But still, the aftertaste is a little bitter without a bit of classic Yann Tiersen.

    so, no one was expecting guitars? you didn't hear the 'on tour' release? i was very pleased with the yann tiersen performance and less pleased with the crowd's reception of him. Asobi Seksu would've been good had her vocals not been so 'up front'... and mixed with so much mid-range it was nearly piercing in a very unpleasant way. their set was good when she wasn't singing...

    I should've left early, would've been a better way to spend my fucking time. Too bad I had to stay the entire time jsut incase there was the 1% chance the show was actually going to get better. And I didn't want specifically amelie, I just wanted ONE SONG THAT I KNEW. Rue Des Cascades could've been easily done. Guy had everything he fucking needed to pull it off, but noooooo. We gotta some fucking "indie rock out band with effects pedals". I admit the guy is allowed to EXPERIMENT and show new material but this was such generic experimentation for christ sake.

    it is true that he has other albums aside from Amelie, of course. However, what was played last night really doens't reflect the music he has in his discography. I left early. I was so excited for this show...and so disappointed.

    I have known him way before Amelie, have all of his albums and was thoroughly disappointed. I really thought I was at the wrong show the entire time. The whole evening was musically uninteresting and unrelated to everything that I love about him. There was no finely crafted, lovely, folk-related music on acoustic instruments such as keyboard, accordion, etc. that he is so well known for. I felt like I was at a performance by a loud high school band trying to "rock out".

    Ha. I love how everyone was pissed that he didn't play anything from Amelie. What did you expect? The guy has released a ton of original albums. Although I was disappointed that he didn't play at least one song from it.
