Opis

The Invisible

The Guardian have described The Invisible as "the best UK pop band we've heard in a very long time indeed", and we'd be inclined to agree. Signed to Matthew Herbert's impeccable Accidental Records imprint, the London-based trio are Dave Okumu, Leo Taylor and Tom Herbert (no relation), and have Zongamin, Gramme and Jade Fox on their various musical CVs. The Invisible's music has attracted favourable comparisons with TV On The Radio, and it's not hard to hear why: soulful vocals, complex, multi-layered arrangements and choppy guitars are the order of the day here.

"Easily the best UK pop band we've heard in a very long time indeed... The Invisible are no less than our very own TV On The Radio - and more besides" - The Guardian

+ Tame Impala

Australian flower-power trio Tame Impala, meanwhile, drag 60s psych-rock kicking and screaming into the modern age. It's time to dig out your old Hendrix records and prepare for some serious wigging out, because these guys have come here to _rock_. Signed to Modular Records and arriving fresh from a triumphant headline tour of their homeland, Tame Impala provide a timely reminder that our cousins from Down Under have rock and roll bands who aren't as boringly derivative as Jet.

"Honeyed '60s garage flower-fuzz pop" - NME

"A daunting force that could cause Jimmy Page to crawl back to the womb" - Times Online

+ Urgent Talk

Sheffield's Urgent Talk marry shoegaze electronica and 8-bit samples with treated viola and guitar noise; an intoxicating mix that recently wowed the crowds at our DiScover night in Sheffield, where the band launched twin debut EPs & and &&. Two-thirds of their number have previous in Gameboy-wielding noise terrorists Heart Yeah, but the only thing UT really have in common with that band is the increasingly chaotic live show, which promises to open proceedings in some style.
