6pm Jed Speare/Jason Lescalleet
Fascinated by the possibilities of magnetic tape and electronic sound, Jed Speare and Jason Lescalleet pool their resources for a first time live collaboration. Initially trained in music composition, Jed Speare is a crossover artist and arts manager whose work has traversed sound, video, performance and installation. His work in sound has explored a unique articulation of analog sound and field recordings. Jason Lescalleet has built a compelling discography over the past 10 years that showcases his uncanny take on vintage magnetic tape, old tape recorders and analog sound.
5pm Karlheinz
A mainstay of the Boston power/noise/harsh electronics scene in Boston, Karlhienz is the performing persona of Karl Giesing, a one man powerhouse of noise, screaming feedback and sonic detritus that will recondition your neural pathways, for better or worse.
4pm Forbes Graham
Forbes Graham, trumpet player and composer, presents a series of duets and trios with drum machines controlled by various Max/MSP patches. The resulting sound is disjoint and very playful, like neighborhood kids shooting off fireworks on the 4th of July. These works explore the artists’ interest in numerology, polyrhythms, and the subversion of cultural signifiers.
3pm Ophibre
The sound of sand drifting on a microphone, empty rooms recorded on a fisher price tape recorder and radio station static from a parallell universe, Ophibre is also a sculptor that packages his recordings as simple, powerful visual experiences.
