Reggae Roast returns to The CAMP Basement for a special live christmas session featuring a performance from the Prince Fatty Sound System, Hollie Cook & Horseman. A gift at only £5 entry!
Prince Fatty’s distinctive sound is an analogue haze of vintage spring reverbs, tape echoes and a custom hi-grade mixing console. We are delighted to have setup a performance from the Prince Fatty Sound System, featuring the main man Fatty at the controls, Hollie Cook singing sweet vocals and MC Horseman dropping lyrics. Their 90-minute set will cover a selection of tracks dub-mixed live on analogue reel-to-reel, from Prince Fatty’s vaults and Hollie Cook’s incredible debut album.
Hollie Cook’s recent album released on Mr Bongo’s has been a massive hit, pushing her self coined ‘tropical pop’ sound beyond the reggae world and into the main stream. We are very much looking forward to hearing Hollie perform choice tracks from the album such as ‘Milk & Honey’, ‘Walking In The Sand’ & ‘Shadow Kissing’. Also playing on the night will be founders of Reggae Roast Exel & Moodie, and guest DJ Markle, hosted by Ramon Judah.
This bi-monthly residency continues to promote the strength of real roots music and provides for the demand for a conscious club night. As always this event is only £5 before 11pm and capacity is limited to 250 so arrive early for guaranteed entry.
