We caught the second support act Circa Survive, who were a little rough at the beginning of their set, but I quite enjoyed them by the end. Their frontman was crazy into performing, and also had a surprisingly high voice (which Gerard even remarked on later), which contrasted with their heavier sound in an interesting way. They also had this crazy sense of rhythm, a lot of syncopation in their beats, which kept me on edge, and also lead to some really interesting (and also kinda alarming) resonance. The most memorable bit though was right before the last song, when the singer rambled on about having a dream about finding out that the drummer in fact hated him, but then he woke up and everything was okay, “we still love each other.” Hee.
But I was here for My Chemical Romance, and let’s be honest: I was so so psyched for this concert. The show did not disappoint despite these high expectations – it was a bigger affair overall with the larger venue…
