Daylight Music - Sundown Arts

FREE ENTRY midday - 2pm

Daylight music is a dazzling idea presented by the Union Chapel to open up their amazing gothic venue to a shiny new daytime crowd and provide a rather exciting platform for artists.

Sundown is a diverse arts event playing host to live music, spoken word, comedy, short films, DJ’s and any other performance art. It is based in Southend-on-sea but now curates events in London and throughout the UK, including many festivals.

Helen Arney

Helen Arney is a musical comedian, a prolific writer of comedy songs with a geeky edge, she’s appeared alongside Robin Ince, been played on BBC6 music and will be appearing at the 2011 Edinburgh Fringe.

Essie Jain

English singer-songwriter now residing in New York, her soothing and calming music inspired her third album which was made for children and parents. Essie’s folk singing has been compared to Sandy Denny and Vashti Bunyan.

Luke Wright

Luke Wright is one of the best young poet’s performing today, he is a 4Talent award winner, has programmed and hosted the Latitude Festival’s poetry arena since its birth, is one of the poets-in-residence on BBC Radio 4’s Saturday Live programme and he’s had four solo poetry stage shows (all of which sold out at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival).
