"Frederic Chopin's 200th Birthday Party - A Polish Jazz Celebration"

This show has been arranged to demonstrate Frederic Chopin’s source of inspiration (folk music) as well as him being a source of inspiration of jazz and contemporary music.

So we will travel Chopin’s creative road – from a simple theme, an initial musical idea, well rooted in Polish folk music to the final arrangement taking advantage of contemporary harmony, jazz rythm, means available to composers of the XXI century.

Improvisation – so significant to traditional, contemporary as well as jazz music – will be the axel holding together the creation of the masters: Andrzej Jagodziński Trio, Sławomir Jaskulke 3yo, Janusz Prusinowski Trio, modern Kwadrofonik, Agnieszka Wilczyńska and Grażyna Auguścik. All this under the direction of Krzesimir Dębski.

Throughout the concert the sound of the grand piano will be present - classic, jazz and avant garde.

The concert composition based on selected scherzos, preludes, mazurkas, and sonata phrases will create a music room filled with lyricism, but not stripped of happiness and energy.
